'Do you know what Obama coffee is'?  'Black and weak'

Must not defame the sacred person of Barack Obama.  You can call George Bush a Nazi but even joking about Obama is verboten

The wife of a senior Israeli politician has posted a racist tweet about Barack Obama, suggesting he is 'black and weak'.

TV host Judy Nir Mozes Shalom, who is married to Interior Minister Silvan Shalom, uploaded the offensive message on Sunday before quickly deleting it, insisting it was a joke.

She wrote: 'Do u know what Obama Coffee is? Black and weak.'

After causing a stir in Israeli media, Mozes Shalom apologized to Obama.  'President Obama I shouldn't have written the inappropriate joke I heard,' she wrote. 'I like people no matter their race and religion.'

He is black. He is weak. What's to be offended about? Most of the world's troubles at the moment are because Obama couldn't step up to the plate and be a real president for America. He was more interested in pushing the progressive agenda at home and killing the American economy, something that he has had good success with unlike the rest of his projects. He has turned his back on the world after giving big speeches in the middle east before his presidency. The world is collapsing on his watch due to his ambivalence. Can't wait for his replacement.

How is that racist? It may or may not be in poor taste, depending upon one's opinion, but it is not racist.

I like the Bush Jokes. I like the Obama jokes. I like liberal jokes. I like conservative jokes.

Q. What do you call a basement full of liberals?
A. A whine cellar.

Q. How many conservatives does it take to change a light bulb?
A. None. They would rather remain in the dark.

Ilsa,

You could interchange "liberal" and "conservative" in your two jokes and they would just as appropriate. Harder to do when you go to the individual person.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the joke. However, one must not say anything derogatory about our President of African ancestry lest you be branded a racist. Since I didn't vote for him either time, Holder and others have automatically branded me a racist.

That's the down-side of an "executive presidential" system, like the US has and such countries as France, where the prestige of the country is reflected in the image of the currently elected party-political President (whether that image is one perceived at home, or perhaps more importantly, abroad). The alternative is the possible advantage of a ceremonial head-of-state, who is above party-politics and is neutral re controversial issues, so can command respect from all sides, such as having appointed ones (as in Germany) or using the old royal ones (ie. constitutional monarchs as in various European countries). There is then no feeling of disloyalty to one's country if not liking the current "President".

Heard someone saying a few days ago that Hillary can't point to any successes as SoS because Obama has had no foreign policy success.
Hardly had any domestic ones either.
He has certainly not been the staunch ally of Israel that other Presidents have.
So, is it any surprise that in Israel he is described as weak?
And there's no arguing with him being black.

She shouldn't have apologised, she was right. To bad if he gets his nose out joint.
