Sometimes stereotypes can not even be mentioned
The book does NOT say Mexicans were lazy. It simply reports accurately that some people said they were
A group of educators and historians say errors and racist terms are used in a proposed textbook.
A book titled “Mexican-American Heritage” is being considered for use in Texas classrooms. The book is published from the company Momentum Instruction, a Virginia company headed by former Texas State Board of Education member Cynthia Dunbar.
On Tuesday, an advisory committee made of historians and scholars against the book filed a 54-page conclusion on the book pointing out all its errors.
One excerpt of the book reads:
“Stereotypically, Mexicans were viewed as lazy compared to European or American workers. Industrialists were very driven, competitive men who were always on the clock and continually concerned about efficiency.”
University of Texas History professor Emilio Zamora said the advisory committee against the book found a total of 141 total errors.
Zamora added some of the language used is “disparaging” by calling Mexican-Americans “lazy,”
In a statement sent to CBS Austin’s sister station in Brownsville, Dunbar said the book has no hidden agenda and “there is no objective to be in anyway negative.”

The Liberals want to rewrite history to match their ideas.

Where does that statement actually say that Mexicans are lazy? A subjective opinion is not an objective statement. Many people are viewed in many ways. That does not make a definitive judgement on them. More leftist crap from people who need to grow up, get a life and move on.
Liberals rewrite the history books to make america look bad liberal teachers collage profesors and adminstrators filling the students heads for of lies then their whining about text books showing mexicans as lazy LIBERAL STUPIDTY NEVER END
I've never known or met a single Mexican. The perception of their laziness might stem from their "siesta", which is a response to the natural slowdown of the body after midday. In these industrial times though, I'm not sure if they can still embrace the siesta.
Western industrialised society also embraced the siesta by accommodating office workers in a quiet room and resting space for 20 minutes during lunch breaks.
We all know that to be true but maybe the book needs to expand on their "Stereotypically, Mexicans were viewed as lazy.." assertion to put the regressive Leftard Marxists back in their caves.
In cartoons mexicans are always portiad as taking a Siesta they sit down with their knees drawn up leavel with their faces wrapped in a srappiy and wearing a big sombrero when they sleep in font of a building or on the side of a road
Onya Spurwing.. At least they're evolving faster than Aboriginals.. :)
