A "racist" poster?

We read:
"For reasons that baffle me, a big deal is being made over someone photoshopping the president’s face into a representation of The Joker from the The Dark Knight. The LA Weekly, eager to play the racism card says “the only thing missing is the noose.” Whaaa?

Now, I can see if someone had taken a picture of President Obama and photoshopped whiteface for spite and without context, (or, for that matter, blackface as done here to Michael Steele) then one might have a credible case for crying “racism.”

But this is making a clear reference to a known fictional character called The Joker, and there is clearly the word “Socialism” beneath the portrait. This is political commentary; whoever came up with it is using a familiar visual image, and giving us an actual word which delivers a two-point message: he or she thinks the president is a joke, and a socialist.

This -until very recently- used to be called “free speech.” It is protected in this country, and thought very highly of. And protest or dissent, we have been told, is the very highest form of patriotism.....

We just went through 8 years of President Bush being called Hitler and photoshopped as Hitler, as Mussolini, as Saturn Devouring One of His Own Children.

Obama’s predecessor endured 8 Years of Assassination Fascination. Actually, the “Assassinate Bush Chic” began even before the 2000 election, when Craig Kilborn flashed “snipers wanted” under a picture of Bush. So-called “newsmen” like Keith Olbermann repeatedly called the president “a fascist” and “a terrorist.” And Obama supporters can’t handle The Joker and the word “Socialism”?

Personally, i think the poster is too mild considering what he really is. But the reaction from the Left is easily understandable when you remember one of their founding principles;

Just like the C-street gang: Ensign, Cunningham, and Sanford.

Meanwhile, only a year ago, a similar image was posted using Pres Bush.

I guess because he is white it's ok...

The Obama administration is going hog wild to find out who made this poster. I doubt if they find out who made it that they will off him a job in the White House graphics division.

They will try and punish and attack the person.

Yet the "hope and change" poster Obama used from during the campaign (the posterized one) was actually a derivative word of a copyrighted photo. The artist had no permission to use the photo as the basis of the poster.

While it would be the photographer that would have to file a copyright violation, Obama should have stopped using what was essentially an illegal poster.

The fact that he didn't at the time reinforced at the time the idea that the laws of the land weren't going to apply to this guy.

After years of abusing Bush the left has finally decided such abuse is wrong. Um, wait... they still go after Bush. And Palin. And her kids. Guess negative comments about politicians is wrong only if it is liberals who are criticized.

What a bunch of hypocrites.

As far as bringing race into the situation - give me a break. Any time anyone disagrees with Obama's politics is labeled a racist. It's surprising the liberals haven't labeled thos who disagree with Pelosi as sexist.

And that liberal use (pun intended) of cries of "racist", on perfectly normal and legitimate things, is rapidly removing all reason to feel any shame if called one.

I would have photoshopped one of odummy over a photo of stalin or satan... wait, odummy is satan, at least the anti-christ.

They would if they could determine what sex she is.

they're communists. Communists consider themselves the only one who should ever attack anyone, and consider any attack against them to be illegal.

I hope the maker of this work of art never gets found by Obama's goons, he probably won't survive (literally) the encounter.

Well, it was always going to end this way.
You simply cannot criticise a public figure who happens to be black without being branded a racist.
Shame, we had such a nice civilisation for awhile.

The essential difference is that Bush was never a Fascist but Obama is definitely a Socialist. These posters hit too close to home so they've pulled out their strongest card in an attempt to limit the damage.

Someone needs to read them the story of "The Boy who Cried Wolf" as it appears their education is missing some essential basics though.

Anon, Obummer has gone way past simple socialism. We are now on the path to Marxism, just as his mentors taught him. I hope the Amerikan people enjoy their decline. They sure deserve it.

Considering the swath of damage he is leaving in our country by his policies and wasted money that we the taxpayers have to foot the bill for, I think the creator of the poster is a genius.
