Must not compliment a woman on her looks

Not if she's a b*tch anyway

It was probably meant as a compliment – but for 57-year-old lawyer Alexander Carter-Silk it backfired spectacularly.

The married father-of-two was accused of ‘disgusting’ sexism last night for messaging high-flying barrister Charlotte Proudman, praising her ‘stunning’ picture on professional networking website LinkedIn.

Miss Proudman – who is the same age as Mr Carter-Silk’s daughter – responded saying she found his message ‘offensive’ and that she was not on LinkedIn ‘to be objectified by sexist men’.

Mr Carter-Silk’s full 9.16am message said: ‘Charlotte, delighted to connect, I appreciate that this is probably horrendously politically incorrect but that is a stunning picture !!!

‘You definitely win the prize for the best LinkedIn picture I have ever seen. Always interest to understant (sic) people’s skills and how we might work together.’

Responding around nine hours later, she wrote: ‘Alex, I find your message offensive.  ‘I am on Linked-in for business purposes, not to be approached about my physical appearance or to be objectified by sexist men.

‘Unacceptable and misogynistic behaviour. Think twice before sending another woman (half your age) such a sexist message.’

In a statement released through City law message board RollOnFriday, Mr Carter-Silk claimed his comments had been misconstrued.

He said: ‘Most people post pretty unprofessional pictures on LinkedIn, my comment was aimed at the professional quality of the presentation on LinkedIn which was unfortunately misinterpreted.

Young and/or attractive women can so easily be dismissively arrogant about comments concerning their "beauty" and "unwelcome" advances, but when men stop noticing them as they get older and less and less physically attractive, then they get sore about the superficiality of men as regards physical attraction!

Well, there are sexist comments and then there are sexist comments:

However, it emerged yesterday that the award-winning human rights barrister [Miss Proudman] has commented on pictures of men on Facebook herself to praise their looks.

She also told female friends they looked ‘sexy’ and ‘stunning’ – the same word used by Mr Carter-Silk.

On the profile of a postgraduate student at Cambridge, where Miss Proudman is on sabbatical from her chambers to study for a PhD, she wrote: ‘Hot stuff!’, while under an image of a long-haired male friend, she wrote: ‘oooo lalala!’

Beneath photos from women, she was also happy to compliment their looks, saying to different friends: ‘Oh ladies, wowwweeeeee!!!!!!’, ‘wow! stunning!!!!’ and ‘Sexy lady!’

Another feminist with a short memory who wants to feel power because she doesn't have any. Another leftist hag.

Now now gentlemen. We mustn't forget that as a member of a minority (which radical feminists are) Ms Proudman is incapable of making sexist comments. Or at least is excused from doing so. Those posts she made are actually just comments on physical appearance, not sexist at all. Remember, only white males are able to make racist or sexist comments.

The PICTURE is stunning, beautifully posed and well lighted. He actually said nothing about the quality of the subject of the picture. She needs to get over herself.
