Must not call fish Asian

The Minnesota Senate on Monday approved John Hoffman's (D-MN) bill to change the name "Asian carp" so called because the species originates from Asia, to "invasive carp". Since Asian carp were introduced in the U.S. in the 1970's, the fish have spread to dozens of states causing destruction in the delicate ecosystems of the waterways.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have been fighting off the most invasive species, the black carp from China, the Silver carp from Vietnam, and Grass carp from China from spreading into the Great Lakes were the fish could do massive damage the regions fishing industry. While arguing his case on the Senate floor, Hoffman said that referring to the fish as “Asian” was hurtful to some people...

Fish are very sensitive to name-calling.

But some bleeding heart was worried that someone MIGHT be offended! Something had to be done!

Are they confusing carp with crap? An easy mistake. If only we could eradicate carp from Australia, along with foxes, rabbits, cane toads and numerous other pests; some brought in with good intention others brought in for the amusement of immigrants. Unfortunately Australia's quarantine program should have started at colonisation.

We just passed a bill stating that "Minnesotan Senator" is offensive to all, but the name should be left as is so everyone knows what an asshat looks like.

Evidently Lake Wobegon isn't the only place in Minnesota where things are perfect. The whole state must be; otherwise, the state legislature would have had more important things to do with their time. WASTE OF TAXPAYERS NOMEY.
