Must not donate to Israeli charities

But I do -- JR

He has never been afraid of getting into spats on his reality TV shows, but now Simon Cowell has found himself in the middle of a much more serious conflict.

The X Factor mogul has been bombarded with gruesome images of dead Palestinian children by protesters who accuse him of helping the Israeli invasion of Gaza.

It comes amid fears of growing anti-Semitism across Europe as violence between Israel and Hamas in Gaza escalates.

Opponents of Israel's two-week military action have seized on a £90,000 donation Cowell made to the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces (FIDF) at a fundraiser last year.

The organisation, founded by Holocaust survivors in 1981, says on its website that it provides Israeli soldiers with ‘love, support and care in an effort to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.’

At a fundraiser in Beverley Hills, hosted by billionaire TV magnate Haim Saban, Cowell, 54, publicly gave $150,000 [£90,000] to the cause.

But in the wake of this month’s conflict in Gaza, dozens of Palestinian supporters attacked Cowell on Twitter and posted graphic reminders of the death toll online in an effort to shame him for his generosity.

In the warped minds of liberals, Israel is not supposed to object to having rockets fired at civilians by the thugs of Hamas.

The dead Palestinian children would be still alive if they weren't used as human shields to protect their rocket sites.

Jew hate is alive and well and as deeply entrenched as ever in Europe.

Yes 4:29, Thanks to the hate promoted by the Christian Church in European history, not least in Austria and Germany that led to the Nazis justifying their "Jew hate" in the countries they took over.

Wow, desperate for moral equivalence or what? Methinks you doth protesteth too much, 4:30.

BTW, Hitler was a great fan of Islam and a hater of Christianity, and he is still much admired in Islamic countries (many of whom were his allies).

You see, it's been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn't we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion [Islam] too would have been more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?

Stinky/Bird. Read for instance what Martin Luther (founder of Protestantism) said about the Jews. It can't be denied how much the Christian Church in Europe despised the Jews, treated them as second class citizens, expeled them from countries and territories, stole their possessions or didn't repay loans, etc.,etc.
The younger Hitler lived in Vienna at a time of much anti-semitism by the Catholics. He was raised as a Catholic and at least pretended to be Christian when it suited him (you didn't quote that from his writings, did you!). He allied with the muslims as they were also anti-jewish, but to him they were inferior peoples.
I would say that you Stinky "protest too much" because you don't like to hear the truth, but I don't call you or Bird an "idiot" as I don't resort to insults and name-calling.

Google the Catholic Church and Nazism.

Martin Luther was a man not a religion. While many leaders at that time had his views, those views did not come from biblical Christianity. The the center of Christianity is Jesus who was a jew and the vast majority of early Christians were Jews. By anon 8:34's analogy, Austria is bad because Hitler was evil. The Christian churches in the US are some of the most ardent supporters of the state of Israel.
