West Point Prayers Under Attack
Americans United for Separation of Church and State is calling for an end to Christian prayers at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. “West Point cadets should be able to train for service in our nation’s military without having religion forced upon them,” said Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United. “Academy officials must respect the religious liberty rights of all cadets who should be free to make their own decisions about prayer without government coercion.”
The church-state watchdog group gave the academy 30 days to
respond to the letter – calling for an end to all prayers at official events because the prayers violate the U.S. Constitution.
A spokesman for West Point told Fox News they had received the letter. The spokesman said that all prayers at West Point are voluntary.
Ron Crews, of Chaplain Alliance, told Fox News he was disturbed by the letter. “Any form of religion is under attack in the military – from Nativity scenes on military chapels to prayers at events,” Crews said. “We need to respect our plurality instead of trying to quash those who do have faith.”

Darn bunch of selfish self-cenetred athiests wont be happy until Christmas and easter are banned all over this so called SEPARATION of CHURCH & STATE which isnt in the U.S. CONSTITUTION
Atheists are simply bullies who are taking advantage of a weak, gullible, and mindless public that lacks the strength and will to even protect it's own religious beliefs. And, as any school boy knows, or should know, the best way to deal with a bully is a strong counterattack. It always works.
Americans are quickly becoming the most pathetic people on the planet.
When I was in the Army many years ago, I did not appreciate being forced to attend a church service during Basic training.
The only force i see being used is by the atheists, forcing, via intimidation, everyone to comply with their demands. I know of no established religion that forces people to abide by their beliefs, except Islam.
"... which isnt in the U.S. CONSTITUTION"
Bullets are not mentioned in the U.S. CONSTITUTION. So the government should ban all bullets.
" I know of no established religion that forces people to abide by their beliefs"
Forcing people to believe in an established religion via intimidation is widespread. If you don't believe what we tell you, you will GO TO HELL with eternal suffering and maggots crawling in your eye sockets. That's the Christian way.
Try again.
Try again 623am,read about Christianity moron, there is nothing about maggots in the Bible and nothing in Christianity that says you have to go to church, it only requires that you believe in the Lordship of Jesus as the Savior of the World.
Soon theyll end the practice of eleted officials swearing on the bible and replace it with THE COMMMUNISTS MANIFESTO
Someday, if the American people ever regain their will, strength, and common sense, (yes, i know that will never happen) they will realize that we have a very destructive virus spreading in our society, a virus that must be "totally eradicated" if we are to survive. That virus is leftism, and Godless cretins like Anon 6:23 are living proof.
The ACLU was founded by a COMMUNIST and its ultimate goal is totaly abolishing relegion and God from our nation
"you should be red faced with embarrassment."
Just making the same kind of arguments that all the Birdbrains make. Can you spell satire, dickwad?
Including pinheads like annon 4:30 with the pea-sized brain and over sized piehole with a foot in it
I can't believe that there are so many right wing imbeciles commenting on this blog. Pathetic.
The ACLU was founded by three people:
Crystal Eastman
In 1917 she co-founded "The Liberator", a publication of The Communist Party of America.
Roger Nash Baldwin
He is the one who famously said at the founding of the ACLU, "Communism, of course, is the goal."
Walter Nelles
At the time of the founding of the ACLU, he was a Social Democrat, which seeks to achieve socialism through peaceful means, in other words, an anti-war form of communism.
Of course, Luke just LOVES to cherry pick his quotations:
Originally, at the beginning of the ACLU, he had said, "Communism, of course, is the goal." Later, however, as more and more information came out about Joseph Stalin's regime in the Soviet Union, Baldwin became more and more disillusioned with Soviet-style communism and called it "A NEW SLAVERY" (capitalized in the original).[4] He condemned "the inhuman communist police state tyranny".
The point being argued was "The ACLU was founded by a COMMUNIST and its ultimate goal is totaly abolishing relegion and God from our nation".
What he did starting more than 20 years later doesn't change the original point, thus it is irrelevant. ("A New Slavery" was written in 1953. The organization that became the ACLU was formed in 1917. That's a 36 year difference.)
How typical of you to try to attack me using smoke and mirrors.
This troll got ya worked up, eh Lukie boy?
Annon 4:42 please flush your brains if you cant be civil about it Your language belongs in the sewer
