Bible incorrect

We read:
"School administrators in Texas face a federal lawsuit filed on behalf of three students, accusing the school district of refusing to allow children to carry or read the Bible.

The lawsuit, filed in Houston, alleges that a teacher pulled two sisters from class after discovering that they were carrying Bibles and threatened to have them picked up by child-welfare authorities.

Another teacher told a pupil he was not allowed to read the Bible during free reading time and forced him to put it away, the lawsuit alleges. The boy also was required to remove a Ten Commandments book cover from another book, the lawsuit states.

"My daughters called me, were hysterical, and said, 'Mama, they took our Bibles and called them garbage and threw them in the garbage and then threatened to call Child Protective Services,' " said Deborah Bedenbender, 37, a Willis homemaker.

"'Mama, they took our Bibles and called them garbage and threw them in the garbage"

We now await the same outrage from the Left as followed the fake "Koran in the toilet" story.

Waiting...

Still waiting...

Anytime now, I'm sure...

No, really...

Sigh.

This story is from 2000. How did it even make it onto Tongue Tied?

I would guess this garbage part of the story is fake as well. I don't believe for one second there are people in Texas so stupid that they would throw a bible in the trash. The other stuff I believe and it's clearly a mistake by school officials.

Maybe they should concentrate on whatever it is they're supposed to teach. As it so happens there was a funny story in a Finnish newspaper this morning. It appears there is a textbook in use in the USA with a European map that shows the capital of Finland to be 'Finland'. There are also other major cities listed, none of which are major in any way. Most of them I've never heard of. It's unbelievable that such a book could exist and have many reprints and editions without a single geography teacher noticing a mistake like that.

The Finn, there are people in Texas who hate the Bible and would do such a thing. There were people who were angry about the moment of silence meant for prayer or whatever.

Finn nailed it. The teachers should spend more time teaching than spreading their politically correct views.

This case is TEN YEARS OLD. What's up with that. Disgusting allegations, but after TEN YEARS, if there was something to this it ought to be findable somewhere on the web. So - what is the follow up?

Any reason to believe this gripe any less spurious than the newest "noose" gripe described in the article above?

Stories like this one, without some substantial followup to the claims, damage the credibility of this site.

Regardless of how old this story is, or isn't, the fact remains that many teachers across the US are in fact conducting themselves in this manner. Egged-on by their communist unions, many teachers feel they have some obligation to condemn Christianity and all those who truly believe in it. Our entire public education system is in the hands of these EduNazi's, and we all know it.

Don't US schools have education in literature and religion as part of culture, with Bibles for at least reference. Isn't there at least one Bible in the school libraries?

Anonymous said...

No BIBLES in public school libraries, but i bet you can find several korans and other death cult books.

Anon 3:47, Probably not.

Even mention the "B" word, and every PC school employee goes nuts.

And that's the point. The Bible, even if not taken as the literal Word of God, is still a relevant literary work. More study and literary criticism has been done on the Bible than ANY other literary work. But because it contains the "J" word, it's out-of-bounds.

So what if it is 10 years old
It still happened and is still an egregious example of Leftist hate

Must not be that much leftist hate if you have to go back 10 years to get an example. Tsk Tsk.

Kind of like some cases i heard about where this student was expelled for refusing to remove his STREIGHT PRIDE T-Shirt and another student was also expelled for refusing to remove his NRA T-Shirt their parents sued and won in both cases. I suppose if they were reading DADDIES ROOMATE it would be okay
