Must not joke about homosexuals

We read:
"The independent student newspaper for the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College has published a staff editorial apologizing for a cartoon that made a joke about violence against gays.

The editorial Friday says The Observer newspaper created an "egregious" error in judgment when it published the cartoon Wednesday.

The newspaper also ran an apology from the cartoon's writers. They say the cartoon was meant to address intolerance of homosexuality on Notre Dame's campus but was offensive.

The cartoon depicts a conversation that says the "easiest way to turn a fruit into a vegetable" is with "a baseball bat."

Oops, gays have no sense of humor, except when choosing a handbag or window curtains.

Or, when they use the courts to over-ride the will of the people.

Well, I don't think its very funny - but humour is subjective.
It seems that the 'independent student newspaper' is either not so independent or it lacks the courage to back up what it prints.

I laughed at the punchline, too, though I can see why many gays would not like that joke and perhaps feel threatened.

---Gays don't like jokes about gay bashing, I can understand their outrage. Also, being outraged against something doesn't violate free speech.

But in the spirit of political incorrectness, I'd like to see that college newspaper print one of the following jokes.

1. Why did Hitler commited suicide? He got the gas bill.

2. White man in a Mercedes - CEO.
Black man in a Mercedes - Chauffer.

3. White man in white coat - Doctor.
Black man in white coat - Butcher.

4. How long does it take a negro to throw out the garbage? 9 months.

Humor is so subjective indeed.
