Loretta Lynch Vows to Prosecute Those Who Use 'Anti-Muslim' Speech That 'Edges Toward Violence'

The day after a horrific shooting spree by a radicalized Muslim man and his partner in San Bernardino, California, Attorney General Loretta Lynch pledged to a Muslim advocacy and lobbying group that she would take aggressive action against anyone who used "anti-Muslim rhetoric" that "edges toward violence."

Speaking to the audience at the Muslim Advocates' 10th anniversary dinner Thursday, Lynch said her "greatest fear" is the "incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric" in America and vowed to prosecute any guilty of what she deemed violence-inspiring speech.

"Now obviously this is a country that is based on free speech, but when it edges towards violence, when we see the potential for someone lifting that mantle of anti-Muslim rhetoric—or, as we saw after 9/11, violence directed at individuals who may not even be Muslims but perceived to be Muslims, and they will suffer just as much—when we see that we will take action," said Lynch.

It is painfully clear that, like her predecessor Eric Holder, Lynch is far more concerned with promoting the social justice agenda than protecting the Constitutional rights of American citizens. What exactly is speech that "edges toward violence"? What exactly are "actions predicated on violent talk"? In the end, it is whatever she decides it to mean.

UPDATE: After strong backlash against her comments on speech that "edges toward violence," Lynch seemed to, as Politico puts it, "recalibrate" her language in a press conference Monday, underscoring that her department would only prosecute "deeds not words."

She wants to redefine the "Reasonable" man to find things like "blasphemy" qualify as "Fighting Words" - but only for those who's religious beliefs dovetail with a violent response to blasphemy. A Christian is called to suffer insult and injury, so it's not reasonable for them to respond with violence when someone blasphemes the name of Jesus Christ by trying to deny His Deity. Many Muslims, on the other hand, are taught to respond with all the fury of Hell unleashed should someone defame their "prophet" whatshisname....so insults against ol' whatshisname become "fighting words."

Although her original words didn't exactly say that, the underlying meaning was that she would prosecute those who crossed a line. The reason for the backlash is that she apparently forgot that we have this God-given right, enshrined in the Constitution, of free speech. The only JV team I see are the ones in the Obama Administration. Even hate speech is free speech as long as you're not directly communicating a threat. It seems many Americans are forgetting this lately.

The Obama administration predominantly harasses and prosecutes those who disagree with them. This is clear from their present and past actions. It does not matter that you win your case, the time and money spent make it not worth it for most and those who win a judgment for false prosecution have it paid for by their fellow citizens and the real perpetrators get lavish public pensions. We of the USA have to apologize for letting the great zero get elected (twice) and perpetrate this heinous brand of stupidity on us and the rest of the world.

I see that she has backtracked on her words after several challenges to her through social media. She seems to be every bit as bigoted towards white Americans as did Holder. Both should be investigated for dereliction of duty and racial bias after the fall of the Obama empire in Jan 2017. If the US elects Shrillary then they deserve everything that will tear country apart due to her incompetence. She couldn't handle a 3pm call let alone the infamous 3am call.

The California AG's biggest fear - after the San Bernadino shootings - is not extremist violence...???
No, its people expressing their opinions.
Wow, just wow.
