A Reader Alerts Us To A New Double Standard--Blackface An Atrocity, Whiteface Fine

Just a note to your readers about blackface. Blackface is demeaning, racist and terrible, especially when accompanied by a derogatory fake name. It's even worse when a fraternity at a Southern school does it at a party.

But when Nick Cannon a black actor and rap artist, does the reverse for public consumption, it's all good clean fun:

Nick Cannon Wears Whiteface, Calls Himself ‘Connor Smallnut’ for ‘White People Party Music’ (Video), By Jordan Zakarin, The Wrap, March 24, 2014

So much for "people of color" never being bigoted, according to progressive dogma. This would be a career killer for most people in the Hollywood industry (i.e. Ted Danson appearing in blackface). But look for Cannon to get a major pass and for the extreme left to excuse it.

It only shows who exist in, or exploit, a victim life-style - very sad!

The double standard and the ability to revel in it are central to the narcissist's worldview. See, they say, we're above the rules, better than you.

Do not engage such people on the issues; they don't really care about those. They care about their egos. Treat their trollishness with the contempt that it deserves (not hard, since most trolls/narcissists are pretty stumblebum to begin with).

Let's put this in perspective. When we see a male performer dressed in drag, we are not laughing at women; we are laughing at the fact that a man tries to act like a woman and does a bad job of it.
Similarly, blackface is not making fun of black people. It is making fun of white people trying to act black and doing a bad job of it.
So when a black performer puts on whiteface, he is basically getting us to laugh at black people, and their inept attempt to imitate whites. I would have thought black viewers would be up in arms over it.

Still on the troll kick, Mr. Stinky?

Yep - Stinky is a sad broken record with obsessions based on his biased amateur psychology.

Always a pleasure to watch the trolls self-identify and confirm the commentary. Thanks, rubes! That's twice now.

What else can we ever expect from a bunch of two faced liberals anyway

Yep - follow Stinky's own suggestion and ignore him as the troll he clearly is to judge by his eccentric rejoinders. Even his choice of soubriquet suggests he's more troll-ish than any mere "anon"!).
