Aesthetic preferences must now be filtered?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but some ideas of beauty must be censored, apparently
"The search for the ultimate cute baby has descended into nastiness after mothers angry at a voting glitch started to launch cruel and racist attacks on other people's children.

Pippa Taylor was floored when someone posted a comment on a picture of her Eurasian daughter Lilli, saying "Bonds Australia not Asia".

Another mum complained on the Bonds Bumps & Baby Facebook page that someone had commented on a picture of her daughter, saying: "A child only a mother could love". Another baby was called an "ugly duckling."

Although all the negative Facebook comments were removed, some parents are so angry they plan to pull their babies out of the competition

I'm a proud Grandma ... still, most babies are butt ugly. My cousin had a baby that looked liked a wrinkled old man until he was about 2 years old. My son looked like the stay puft marshmallow man. Snot, drool and being bald doesn't help. So I'm guessing all these women knew deep inside their babies were ugly, so they had to bash other babies looks to feel better about theirs.

Welcome to the world of "beauty" pageants - they often bring out the "ugly" in everyone!

All babies are cute.

I'm always amused (and saddened) by these situations. Hearing the moms, one might get the impression that these contests are actually about the kids. They're not. More often than not, they're about a group of frustrated douche bags who will do anything for attention, (and money) including sacrificing their own young children. Remember Jon Baney Ramsey? (sp) This activity should be classified as child abuse, because that's exactly what it is.

Maybe parents should get tested for a license to have a child.

What do these parents expect? Did they not know that beauty contests demand judgments on beauty? Seriously, I hope these parents don't want their kids to be actors, singers and musicians if they can't stand the harsh judgmental nature of the biz.

Gays would make better parents.
Babies and children are not fashion accessories or trophies. Neither should animal pets be abused that way.

the parents taking part in the contest, not their messages, that is...

It never ceases to amaze me.

The world's going to Hell in a handbasket and these morons have nothing better to do than display their ugly little brats on the internet.

In both cases you end up with an abnormal child. Bringing your friends home (assuming you have any) to meet mommy and mommy, or daddy and daddy simply tells your friends that you're not normal, even if it "feels" nice to the so-called "parents", who's main purpose is not about the child, but rather to make a political statement.

4:0 AM - I guess you think it's "normal" to pre-judge people simply on gender and not on their actual parental abilities - congrats, you are what's called a bigot.

Gays can be great parents, straights can be great parents, why would you make an "all or nothing" statement like that?

Besides, I don't think beauty pageants and the entertainment industry isn't that evil.

Ask Justin Bieber, he's not even an adult and he already has more money than most people make in a lifetime. Will that hurt him? I doubt it, money and fame don't hurt people, it's people who hurt themselves.
