Must not mention menstruation

I must say that I would not like to be in the company of an armed female at certain times of the month

An Arizona veterans services official was fired and her boss resigned after she said women might be less suited for combat because of their menstrual cycles.

Former state Rep. Terri Proud, hired as an administrative assistant with the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, made the comment this week to the Arizona-Sonora News Service.

“I understand that women want to be on the front lines, and they want to do their service and women are very strong. We’ve really come far through the years. We’re extremely strong,” Proud said. But, she added, “Women have certain things during the month I’m not sure they should be out there dealing with. I don’t know how to address that topic in a very diplomatic manner.”

Proud, a Republican, was fired Wednesday and her supervisor, Veterans’ Services Director Joey Strickland, resigned

Proud made national news during her time in the Arizona legislature when she said last year that women who want an abortion should be required to watch one first.

It's true, nobody wants to admit there are physical differences between men and women on many issues, and mentioning that a woman on maneuvers for 60 days might require "additional supplies and support" is tantamount to heresy.

If you were then to add the additional psychological issues that some women experience - i.e. PMS - you'd just asking to be thrown under the nearest bus....

Shame on her. Doesn't she know that facts and truth are no longer acceptable, having been replaced by political correctness.

Personally, i can't wait for women to be put into front-line combat units. Then, when live, HD video starts coming back home of young girls being shot to pieces and blown to bits, we'll see how enthralled the American people are with diversity and political correctness.

Seems without lowering standards women can't hack being in the Marines. The combat training washed out the only two female applicants that could qualify. Unless they extremely reduce the combat effeciveness of the corps women cannot be combat marines.

Just set the agreed standards for whatever the job position is, and then anyone can apply and try to qualify on the same basis re those standards and requirements, regardless of any other social considerations.

3:56 PM It seems that there is a similar problem with firefighters.

A good.friend and coworker is a.soldier in the US Army. He served two tours in Afghanistan and frequently had to carry more than 100 lbs of equipment and.ammo in his rucksack all day. How many women can do that? Men are physically stronger than women and combat requires strength. It's as.simple as.that. This is not an equal opportunity issue.
