Long-winded alternative to "illegal alien"
In a horrific story that the national newspapers are thus far ignoring, the Associated Press is trying out its new linguistic gymnastics on illegal alien and murder suspect Jose Zarate.
According to investigators, 25-year-old Zarate went to Maria Saucedo’s home around 9:30pm on Monday, expressing interest in pursuing a romantic relationship with the woman’s 13-year-old daughter. After Saucedo refused his request, Zarate allegedly pulled out a rifle and shot the 31-year-old mother in the chest at close range while her daughter was in the room.
The Associated Press reports that “The sheriff’s office says Zarate is not a U.S. citizen and has been living in the country illegally.” Or, more concisely, he’s an illegal alien.
Troublingly, this trend of avoiding legal terminology is apparently spreading into the law enforcement community. An Arizona deputy seems to have adopted the AP’s new standard, reportedly referring to Zarate as a “non-U.S. citizen who has been living in the country without proper authorization.”
Why say “illegal alien” when you could use a dozen words to say the same thing?

Why use a dozen wolrds when two would do? Because some think it makes them sound intelligent. But mostly because it hides reality. And reality is anethema to the PC crowd.
Back in the dark ages my English teacher taught us that illegal was a sick bird and that term was not to be used. Unlawful was the correct terminology. We should use the correct phrase for illegal immigrants, “undocumented democrats”.
MDH
The appropriate term is "People" or "Human Beings"
2:41 Human beings. Oh yes, Charles Manson, human being; John Wayne Gacy, human being, Adoph Hitler, human being; Joseph Stalin, human being; Mao, human being; Che, human being. Yes, all human beings.
So what!
"So what!"
Typical right wing response, equating mass murderers with "illegal aliens". Sigh.
3:40 is a typically leftist who doesn't recognize his own logic fully applied.
I will pray for you, Luke. You need help.
Let's not confuse a lib with logic and complicated concepts requiring intellectual honesty. It's so much easier to just feel, rather than actually think.
Rumpelstiltskin smiles.
2:41 AM So are you saying the term should be 'illegal Human Beings'?
"So are you saying the term should be 'illegal Human Beings'?"
No. That is what YOU are saying, moron.

Ah, the wonderfulness of the internet, where any imbecile may call someone else a moron. ; )
Some humans steal. They are referred to as thieves. Others kill. We call them murderers. And some immigrate without legal permission, hence becoming illegal immigrants.
All are subsets of the set of human beings. Nobody intimates they are not human. Well, other than the PC crowd anyway.
So called? Do you mean to say that no laws are broken when one ignores the legal immigration process when entering the United States?
Or are you just a troll looking for a reaction?
Oh well, my point is made. I'm done
To the guy carelessly tossing around Christianity without understanding it: How many illegal human beings are you sheltering in your home? How many are you feeding on a daily basis? Have you given your job to a illegal human being? Have you paid for illegal human beings' health care lately? I strongly suspect the answer to all of these questions is none.
Yet our good Christian has no problem making US citizens and legal immigrants do all these things at the point of a gun. If you don't understand what "at the point of a gun" means, you're not mature enough to engage in honest debate.
Have fun wallowing in your own hate, boys.
Anon 5:15 ------ hate defined as anything you can't wrap your clearly limited intellect around.
Anon 5:31 - Well, you can go back to play your video games in your parents' basement. cya
Anon 6:46:
Someone with massive experience at being in his parents' basement. Unfortunately zero experience at anything else.
