Must support Muslim propaganda?

We read:
"Lowe's Home Improvement has found itself facing a backlash after the retail giant pulled ads from a reality show about American Muslims.

The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC's "All-American Muslim" after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

The show premiered last month and chronicles the lives of five families from Dearborn, Mich., a Detroit suburb with a large Muslim and Arab-American population.

A state senator from Southern California said Sunday he was considering calling for a boycott.

Calling the Lowe's decision "un-American" and "naked religious bigotry," Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press he would also consider legislative action if Lowe's doesn't apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads.

legislative action if Lowe's doesn't … reinstate its ads.

Stated by a Democrat. And they claim Democrats are not socialists and conservatives are the fascists. Self-reflective, this guy is not.

I've been avoiding Home Depot and shopping at Lowe's because of their respective corporate actions. Lowe's decision to pull their ads is yet another reason to keep shopping there. Good job Lowe's!

I normally don't agree with people who complain about shows on TV, but they were only showing the most secular possible muslims (mainstream muslims would consider them apostates) and they to portray these as the norm. They showed a muslim woman marry a non muslim. I would love for them to interview "moderate" muslims and ask what should happen to a muslim woman who marries a non muslim. Of course they would never show that on TV because it would defeat their purpose in doing the show.

Ask anyone on this show about Jews or Israel and they would froth at the mouth. So they wouldn't show that either.

Like everything else produced by the insatiably greedy TV industry, this show is phony. It's meant to project the type of false image Muslims want the world to see, especially those countries like the US and the UK, which they are infiltrating. Apparently, TLC felt comfortable doing this knowing there's a Muslim sitting in the Oval Office.

Lowe's should be applauded for their honesty and courage, and the TLC network should be boycotted.

He must have converted after the marriage. When I saw the show, he said he considered converting, but then hadn't during the ceremony. They kept on talking about his irish catholic heritage, and her lebanese muslim, but they didn't show him do anything muslim, he wasn't wearing those skullcaps, didn't have a beard, etc.. He was christian when he married her. I didn't watch any followup, but if she married him while he was a nonmuslim, that's still not haram.

Yet again RELIGION (muslim/christian/jewish, etc.) creates social tensions - to say the least!

In the end, it doesn't matter what the showed displayed. It doesn't matter that people asked Lowe's to stop sponsoring the show. It doesn't matter what Lowe's decision was.

What matters is that a representative in the California legislature is threatening people and a business for making a decision.

The Learning Channel, Lowes, the people that asked Lowes to stop sponsoring the show all did nothing wrong yet Lieu is threatening Lowes with legislature if they don't apologize?

Frankly, Lowes should offer up a criminal complaint against Lowes for extortion. He is demanding Lowes apologize and start sponsoring the show again or else.

That is classic extortion. Just because it comes from a legislator doesn't make it right or legal.

It is time to hold Lieu's feet to the fire for his illegal threats.

So now the CA legislator thinks he can dictate which companies put ads on which TV programs? Huh? When did that happen???

I'm shopping at Lowes, although it is disturbing that a politician would threaten to legislate (bill of attainder) against an organization because of their views. It stinks of fascism..”you will advertise where we say you will advertise."

Hrmm.. Isnt this show supposed to show us how Muslims in America are truly moderate? I remember this guy started a TV channel in NY to show the people how "normal" Muslims are too.. I wonder what ever happened to that guy?

I don't give a crap about political "boycots". I shop for the lowest prices.

When your customers threaten to boycott your store because an action you are taking is offensive to them, the wise retailer looks to his "hold" card, and if he determines that the people protesting look/act/seem like his mainstream customers i.e., not some group of extremist loons, he ceases taking that action.

On the other hand, when anyone, retailer or other, is the subject of a threat by a blowhard, the best thing to do is call the blowhard's bluff. There is nothing that immediately comes to mind that gets my back up as much as a blowhard spouting a threat that he can in no way back up.

The blowhard is a poli ina liberal state, anything is possible, and if they pass something unconstitutional, it will cost Lowes a LOT of money and there will be no repercussions for the politician.

Well said Anon 4:21.

Lowes is stuck in a catch 22 on this one. Tick off the Christians or tick off the libs. They would have been better off just quietly allowing the ad campaign to expire and not renew it.

I think Lowes absolutely made the right decision, and I hope they stick by it. Lowes is a private company and has every right to support who it want to support. And how its customers agree or disagree will determine its fate.

Once again, Politically Correct Liberals are invading our rights and liberties.
