Britain: "Hitler" image turns out to be Lenin

One hopes that somebody learned something from that:
"A customer complained that the image on the underwear resembled the Nazi leader saluting as planes passed overhead. Next said that it had investigated the complaint and found the image, among a series of cartoons, was inspired by a picture of Lenin, the former Soviet leader.

But a spokesman told The Sun it was withdrawing the remaining 5,200 pairs of the underwear anyway. He said: "The complaint came in today and by the end of the day all 5,200 will be withdrawn. "We have checked with the designer who confirmed the image was inspired by Lenin. Nonetheless, if even one customer is offended or upset we are happy to withdraw the range."

There are pictures of Stalin using the "Fascist" salute too. Scroll down here

What if I'm offended by their withdraw of the line??? Will they re-institute the line to solve my problem??? Doubtful....

What if I'm offended by their withdraw of the line??? Will they re-institute the line to solve my problem???Now THAT would be an interesting experiment! Maybe someone should take on the role of the sole objector and say everything and anything is offensive. Will the system some to a screeching halt?

That's a funny notion, but one that can have dire consequences. There are people out there who live to complain, especially if they know their one complaint will change things for hundreds, thousands, or even millions of other people. Perhaps it's the only way these otherwise irrelevant whiners can get any attention. Like the two lesbians who walked into a Mexifornia courtroom some years ago and started the whole gay marriage debacle.

---Great, so you're happy to lose money just to please one customer who didn't buy anything and will probably not shop there again. Very smart.

If businesses started to sue people who make frivolous and/or unfounded complaints, they would stop.

Maybe someone should complain about the very concept of underwear.
After all, it's not really functional at all so there's no practical need to wear it, yet its production and distribution release a lot of CO2 which is clearly a crime against nature.

That should cause the company to shut itself down to meet their policy to remove any product anyone is offended about :)

I wish I was the owner of a company that received complaints like that so I could personally call the complainers and tell them to go fuck themselves and that I don't want them as customers. I'd publish the exchange on my website too.
