Politically correct "beauty"

The usual Leftist abuse of words:
"Michelle Obama has been included in US magazine People's list of 100 most beautiful people, alongside cancer survivor, actor Christina Applegate, and Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson.

The First Lady, who has achieved celebrity status and wowed the world as a fashion icon, made the list for the first time.

Applegate, 37, the star of the TV show Samantha Who?, won admiration for going public last year about her breast diagnosis and later underwent a double mastectomy.

Also included on the list in a "Barack's Beauties" section were White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and others.

The Left seem to have made "beauty" into an empty word. What makes hustler Rahm Emmanuel or Timothy Geithner beautiful? And the most esteemed female appearance in most of the world is blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin. How does Michelle Obama fit into that? She is just a huge over-inflated ego as far as I can see.

Am I allowed to say that a black person has a large ego? I guess we shall see. For the record, there is a large body of psychological research stretching back decades in which blacks have been recorded as having on average very big egos. See e.g. here. Low self-esteem is certainly not their usual problem. So if what I say is "hate speech", so is a large body of academic research.

That I am myself a much-published academic psychologist does come in handy sometimes. Much more truth is allowed in the academic literature than in popular publications. Some academic publications even publish data which contradict global warming!

I'm not into beauty pageants myself, so I really don't care what People magazine says is beautiful.

but Rahm Emmanuel? yuck

Jon, it's not ego's that you see in blacks, it's arrogance. And why would anything People Magazine says be considered relevant by a thinking person? They are simply another left-wing rag.

Interesting. People Magazine's definition of beautiful must be "Wealthy, holds important public position, or employed as an actor/actress. Also embraces liberal philosophy, desires power."

They're leftist, so the press wants to give them attention.
A rag that thrives on things like lists of "beautiful people" therefore has to put them on those lists, and indeed finds them beautiful for their leftist ideology.

Really? This is what's got you in a twist? Really?

"And the most esteemed female appearance in most of the world is blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin."

---What kind of bullshit is this? Just because Hitler and his ilk defined beauty as blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin doesn't mean only those people get to be beautiful.

A friend of mine meets those characteristics and he married an Indian woman since those are the only women he finds attractive.

As someone with brown hair, brown eyes, and somewhat fair skin (more eastern european than nordic) I take offense at John Ray's gross generalization.

Ever watch Desperate Housewives? The characters of Bree Van Der Kamp (redhead) and Ms. Soliz (black hair) are quite beautiful.

Besides, People's list of 100 most beautiful people is not supposed to be the Victoria's Secret or Abercrombie & Fitch catalog.

And even in those catalogs they aren't all blond.

I have to disagree with you on "the most esteemed female appearance" That is simply a matter of opinion. As for myself, I haven't slept with anything that wasn't asian in more than 20 years. IMHO, I think they are the most beautiful women on earth. Blonds don't even interest me other than a cursory glance. As for Michelle Obama, she's actually quite ugly, and would be no matter what color her skin is.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you don't like what someone looks like, don't look.

Tired old rant. Anyone who doesn't agree with you must be a leftist. Go away.

I'm glad I'm not alone with my statements against blonde-supremacy.

I will admit I love blondes, but like annonymous 10:20 AM said,

"beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

The world would be very sad if everyone looked the same.

"Michelle looks like your typical angry black woman"

You sure got that right. No matter how many make-overs they give her, they can't hide that anger and hatred of Whites, something she's always been known for.

Well Jon, that was a pretty 'out there' post, even for you.
Beauty means much more than what one person might find appealling. Indeed power, or proximity to it, can also be somewhat attractive to some people.
I don't find Michelle Obama attractive but that doesn't mean that someone else mightn't find her beautiful. I could think of at least one person (and his children) who probably does.
As for that 'most esteemed female appearance' comment - Asia has well over half the world's population and I dare say very few of them would be putting blonde hair and blue eyes on the top of their list. Africa is the next most populous continent and I would suggest the same comment applied.

LOL!

I knew that comment about blonde hair would create a stir!

But women blonde their hair all over the world -- even in Japan

It's clear what they think is most attractive

The majority of women who make their hair blond do it for the same reason most women do everything. For the attention! They actually believe it gets them more attention. And they believe that because women are far more susceptible to all the phony ads and commercials that are aimed directly at them and their pocketbooks. They should do a survey on how many of those blonds are "real" blonds.

Naked Cowboy:Sheriff in a small town in Texas walks out in the street and sees a blond haired cowboy coming toward him with nothing on but his cowboy hat, his gun and his boots. He arrests him for indecent exposure.

As he is locking him up, he asks 'Why in the world are you walking around like this?'

The cowboy says, 'Well it's like this Sheriff ... I was in this bar down the road and this pretty little red head asks me to go out to her motor home with her. So I did.

We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off my shirt. So I did.

Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants. So I did.

Then she pulls off her panties and asks me to pull off my shorts. So I did.

Then she gets on the bed and looks at me kind of sexy and says, 'Now go to town cowboy.'

'And here I am.'

Son of a Gun. Blonde Men do exist!

It has always got me to thinking that Adolf Hitler said that the Blonde was the height of evolution, yet he wasn’t a blonde. So by his own standards, he must have been second rate in his own eyes.
