A real truth teller

We read:
"CBS Sports golf analyst David Feherty apologized Sunday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for a morbid joke that went bad in a Dallas magazine. Feherty, one of the most popular golf analysts for his sharp wit and self-deprecating humor, was among five Dallas residents who wrote for "D Magazine" on former President George W. Bush moving to Dallas.

"From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this though," Feherty wrote toward the end of his column. "Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."

Feherty, a former Ryder Cup player who grew up in Northern Ireland, has gone to Iraq over Thanksgiving the past two years to visit with U.S. troops, and he created a foundation to help wounded soldiers.

Military men do tend to have characteristic attitudes and I am perfectly sure that Feherty described correctly what many of them would like to do. As a former army psychologist, I think I have some small basis for that opinion but from his work with the troops I am sure that Feherty has EVERY basis for that opinion.

He should go to NAS Fort Worth/JRB and apologize to all hands while they are in formation. Apologizing to nancy and harry is a joke. It still legitamizes his behaviour. Because they don't like Active/Retired/Honorably Discharged, either.

I find it amusing to see how much rage is being "manufactured" over this incident. It seems to offend those on the Left to see that the Right does in fact have 2 or 3 bomb-throwers of their own, as opposed to the thousands of professional, full-time bomb-throwers on the Left.

You'll notice the total lack of controversy over the vile and vicious remarks made by "comedian" Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents dinner, where she insulted both Rush Limbaugh, and of course, former VP Cheney, while standing about 3 feet from president Yobama. The audience, comprised of noted Leftists from both the media and Hollywood, (actually one in the same) roared with laughter.

When someone joins the military don't they take an oath to defend the US and the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic? This guy didn't get into trouble for telling a joke; he got into trouble for telling the truth.

Nancy Pelosi is a domestic enemy of the US and the Constitution. She goes to the Middle East to 'visit' foreign leaders against the advice of the State Department. She tells pro-illegal alien rights groups that they are 'patriotic Americans' and that the people who want to secure the boarders and the laws regarding illegal immigration to be enforced are the 'bad guys'. And of course recently she LIED to the press and America about her knowledge of waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation techniques.

All in all, a typical Democratic politician.

I thought it was funny as hell. And if I was him, my apology would have went something like this.
"CBS, I am sorry for having offended your very liberal bias, please do not fire me. To Harry and Nancy, GET BENT!"

It will be interesting to see what happens in 4 yrs. They are all garbage and yet the brain dead lemmings do the same voting again and again. What is the definition of insanity again?

You mean the joke about Rush being the 20th hijacker that got boos and that the White House declared "Over the line." That joke?

Yes, that joke. The joke president Obomber found very funny.

So we're talking about the joke that the right wing is so enraged about, but the left wing realizes is a joke.

And you're talking about the outrage from the about this golfing commentators joke, that the right realizes was just a joke.

do i have the situation understood?

Say what you want, the joke was funny.

The best humor has a lot of truth to it. That's why this joke was funny and the Rush Hijacker joke wasn't.
