British Leftist politician accused of anti-Semitism after suggesting Britain's first Jewish ambassador to Israel 'has divided loyalties'

Divided loyalties is a classic antisemitic slur
"A Labour MP has been accused of making anti-Semitic remarks after suggesting Britain first Jewish ambassador to Israel had 'divided loyalties'. Paul Flynn, the Newport West MP, made the comments about Matthew Gould during a meeting with chief civil servant Sir Gus O'Donnell.

Mr Flynn's comments were widely criticised by his members of his own party as well as the Jewish Chronicle newspaper. The LabourList blog also reported that the party's leadership, including Ed Miliband, thought the comments were 'totally unacceptable'.

The party's chief whip Rosie Winterton was also reported to have called Mr Flynn in to discuss his comments.

Mr Flynn later apologised for his remarks saying he regretted the 'clumsily expressed remarks of mine that have caused anger and upset'.

If you look for this story on the BBC it is buried in local Wales news, and they only cover the apology, not the orginal story.

Well, there's one thing Jews have proven. That being, the secret to longevity (thousands of years) is whining. I wonder if it comes in pill form.

Well, Glenn Beck is a huge supporter of Israel, will he also be accused of divided loyalties?

Oh, and to the guy who attacks Zionism, answer me this.

If Israel ceases to exist, where do you want the Israelis/Jews to go?

I'm proud to support Israel, proud to support the best country in the middle east, the most technologically advance, and our only real ally in the world.

Divided loyalties? Maybe the Brits need to focus more on the Muslims persecuting their own people instead of the religion of their ambassador.

Besides, in the end ambassadors represent the views of their governments, it's not like Gould is going to tell the Israelis that Her Majesty wants them to kill more Palestinians or something crazy like that. So his religion is irrelevant.

"I'm proud to support Israel"

We are supposed to be "friends" with Israel. What has our friend actually done for us? It seems to me a one way relationship. We have NO business being in the middle east.

Israel only exists as a client state of, and totally supported by, the US (or indirectly the West in general) as a foothold in the M/E to protect its dependence on additional oil reserves.
Now of course it's a frontline against the ambitions of Iran.
As with all colonies, the denizens themselves (the israelis) are of no importance in themselves except to attract money and votes from US jews.
