Why were 73,000 blogs shut down all at once by the U.S. Government?
This is very alarming indeed. Obama's USA worse than China??
"The United States Government shut down about 73,000 WordPress blogs on a single Web site in a move that some fear signals an increasing disregard for individual free speech rights. The action follows the high profile government seizure of seven online movie sites weeks ago. The U.S. move dwarfs current Chinese government activity that shut down only “dozens” of blogs in China.
Recently targeted by federal action, the free WordPress blogging site Blogetery abruptly came offline after hosting provider BurstNet complied with undisclosed demands from authorities. A message viewable upon visiting the Blogetery site gives this message from its owner: "After being BurstNet customer for 7 months our server was terminated without any notification or explanation.”
A link on the site leads to a forum called Web Hosting Talk, where the site operator has posted correspondence with BurstNet, that suggests federal involvement in the incident.
Those first to learn about the Blogetery shutdown seemed to think that the move was due to intellectual property concerns. The online discussion supposedly with the Blogetery owner suggests that users of his site prompted frequent cease and desist demands from copyright holders to which he responded with appropriate action against users of his site.
Original speculation seemed to be misguided upon the release of comments from BurstNet that disclosed that the action against Blogetery was not “typical” and required instant compliance with federal demands to close the entire Web site. Some reports seem to suggest that intellectual property rights actions typically target specific users of a service rather than the entire operation.
Now, some fear that the suffering of the innocent together with the guilty as the free speech of many appears to have been infringed by government action. Such fear supposes, of course, that not all 73,000 blogs on Blogetery were lawbreakers.

"Developing", as they say. At least this blog is hosted by Google and they are probably too big to mess with.

They also have Algore as a major shareholder and "advisor".
If you are a fair, open-minded, unbiased person, does this story really surprise you? If you are such a person, you've undoubtedly noticed by now that every single bill, law, regulation, proposal, and action taken by this administration all have one thing in common. They are all aimed at, not their stated purpose, but at TOTAL CONTROL of the population.
This govt. is in the process of controlling "every" aspect of our daily lives, be it what we eat, drink, smoke, or drive, where we bank, what lightbulbs we use, how comfortable our homes should be kept, who we should listen to, and yes, what opinions we should have, which is why the Internet is at the very top of their list of things to control. Any divergence from the accepted "program", gets you labeled a "racist' bigot, or radical". Of course, if you've been properly "PC-ized", and you're part of the Left, none of the rules applies to you.
And yet, there are those who still believe this is the free country our Founders intended it to be, even though those freedoms and liberties are slowly being erased each day, all in the name of "what's best for you", of course. Those on the Left somehow always seem to know what's best for everyone else. A truly amazing talent. Or, is it a gift, and if it's a gift, from whom does it come? It can't be from God, since most on the Left don't believe in God. Yes, i'm jealous. I too would love to have the limitless wisdom to be able to tell others how they should, indeed must, live. NOT!
No, i want no such "gift", because i believe in freedom and liberty. I believe in the peoples right to make their own choices, such as, the right to keep the fruits of their own labor rather than having those fruits taken by the govt. and given to those who earn and produce nothing. The only purpose of such a "gift" is to control the freedom and liberty of others.
Now sit back, close your eyes, and remember the days when America was a free country. And also remember this. Only the people, not the elected lying crooks, can make it free again.
I see the site's working as usual.
"Proof please"
According to Luke, proof is not required, only belief.
QUOTABLE QUOTES:
"It is not good enough simply to spotlight cockroaches: Ultimately, all caring people must always rally to the requisite stomping party. For us varmint hunters, these are truly the good old days of a target-rich environment with no bag limit. Let the stomping increase to a furious frenzy and cacophony of good over evil. May America create the splat heard round the world. My steel-toed boots are giddy with anticipatory delight. Stomp on into a voting booth near you."

Aren't lies supposed to be even a little believable to be effective? Why bother posting one that's so obvious? Sounds like blind rage to me.

Congratulations, you got a response from me. Now it's your turn to throw out another one of your bigoted contra-science rants.
"Remember these?"
Junk science. Just like global warming.
If you want to call the work of guys like Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Robert Jastrow, Stephen Jay Gould, James Watson, Francis Crick, Edwin Hubble, Arno Penzias, Robert Wilson, and of course, just about every historian and archeologist—not to mention every other scientist working in the fields of cosmology, physics, microbiology, etc.—"junk science", you're free to do so. Good luck with that.
Tell me again why we should believe some troll hiding behind "Anonymous" over these guys?
Just testing the new power the federal government is seeking to shut down dissenting voices...
And using a site already in hot waters over illegal activity as the test bed is actually a smart move, gives a very plausible smoke screen if one is needed.
Hey Luke,
Just a few words on my part yielded a long response from you. Mission accomplished. Still haven't learned, have you? LOL.
Congratulations. What do you win?
