An overused tactic?
I would like to think the comment below was correct but I do think that it is only partly so. The accusation still has some power to embarrass less cynical people

It's true. The term is routinely used by the professional race-pimps (Je$$ie Jackass, Al $harptongue, NAACP, etc.) when they find they have nothing relevant or rational to say, which is always. Leftists also use the term whenever they're dealing with someone who disagrees with them, or someone they fear. (Limbaugh, Palin, Beck, etc.)
The best way to stop this tactic is for overly sensitive Whites to stop defending themselves every time they're falsely accused by some of the above.

I think it's about time we stopped using the term "progressive" simply because certain non-progressive persons call themselves that.
