Gadsden flag banned by Facebook?

If true, this would close many (most?) Tea Party pages! As the election gets nearer, Leftists are cracking down more and more on any opposition
"Facebook has sensationally banned the official Alex Jones Facebook page after a customer services representative admitted that all material containing images of the famous Gadsden flag was being deleted by the social networking giant.

While some fan pages remain up, the official Alex Jones Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/realalexjones has been terminated. Other Alex Jones pages run by Infowars readers have also been deleted, such as the page that was formerly at http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Real-Alex-Jones/.

If Facebook has embarked on a policy of banning political expression and images it deems offensive then the company should be more open about the fact. While Facebook didn’t consider it necessary to delete a fan page dedicated to the British murderer Raoul Moat, it is now purging all material related to the Tea Party movement, states’ rights and the Gadsden flag, which is a symbol of resistance against tyranny and was originally used by the United States Marine Corps.

I have just put up the Gadsden flag on my Facebook page. Could be interesting.

Finally, facebook shows it's true colors with it's politically motivated censorship. This move is a blatant insult to every real American, aside from being a clear violation of the First Amendment which protects political speech and expression.

As anyone can plainly see, the Left, with the always-willing help of their propaganda arm, the MSM, is engaged in a desperate campaign to demonize the Tea Party movement. The latest attack is coming from the NAACP, an irrelevant and notoriously racist organization that has sided with the Black Panther Party in their call for the murder of Whites and their children.

The Demoncrats, and other components of the radical Left, are truly terrorfied of the Tea Party movement because it's made up of average Americans from all parts of the political spectrum. That makes them very difficult to control, and it is that fact that the Left fears most.

We often use different terms to express identical ideas. For example what Americans call a "swimsuit" Australians call a "cozzy." An apartment is a "flat" in Britain, etc.

Likewise, leftist have devised alternate terms for general concepts.

To help clarify matters, below I've listed 10 terms for general concepts followed by the alternate term used by leftists:

General term Tea Party
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Free Enterprise
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Property Rights
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term American Immigration Laws
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Austrian School of Economics
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Competence-based Hiring and Promotion
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Republican
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Home/Private/Charter Schools
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Fair Tax
Leftist term Racism
*****
General term Racism
Leftist term Affirmative Action

"This move is a blatant insult to every real American, aside from being a clear violation of the First Amendment which protects political speech and expression"

First is correct, 2nd isn't.
The first ammendment only and exclusively pertains to the government.
Unless you postulate that Facebook is in fact a government agency of the United States, they have every right to disallow whatever content they so choose.
Whether that's a smart business move is another matter entirely, but it's not against the law as long as it's not applied in such a way as to be discriminatory (in other words, if this is part of a ban against political symbols, they should ban all such symbols, not just this one, or you could file suit against them for discrimination).
It's their home, their property, they get to do what they want with it (just as you can tell a communist at your door to get off your property).

I don't agree with their ban, think it's a sign of the true nature of the company, but I do realise it's legal for them to do it.

anon 5:10,

While you are technically correct, the problem with most online resources is that they do not state clearly and plainly what their stance is.

A site like Facebook is touted as a social network for everyone, yet when they impose restrictions, they hide behind "we can do what we want because we are a company" moniker. I admit that I have never read the Facebook EULA, but I suspect that its restrictions imposed are more general and along the lines of "material of an offensive nature is prohibited" as opposed to "Conservative or Republican viewpoints and expression are prohibited." And the difficulty is that "offensive", particularly by today's Politically Correct standards, can mean pretty much anything as long as you have one person to complain.

It is clearly a case of discrimination, as left-wing items, speech, and symbols are not restricted. And therein lies the basis for a First Amendment violation. Free speech is guaranteed everywhere, not only on a govt. web site.
