Gasp! British clergyman attacks the holy of holies:
"A Church of England priest has been ordered to remove comments from his blog calling for gay men to have their backsides tattooed with a warning about sodomy.
Reverend Peter Mullen wrote: "Let us make it obligatory for homosexuals to have their backsides tattooed with the slogan SODOMY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH and their chins with FELLATIO KILLS."
The clergyman, who ministers to parishes in the City of London financial district, was yesterday ordered to remove the comments by the Diocese of London, which said his comments were "highly offensive" and did not reflect its views.
But Mullen, 66, insisted his remarks were "light-hearted jokes" and "satirical".

Sorry, but like it or not, clergy are held to a higher standard, and this guy was really inappropriate. Was he within his rights of free speech? (at least by U.S. standards) Yes. But still inappropriate.
He should be preaching that "according to the Bible" homosexuality is a sin, and that through Jesus Christ, your sins can be forgiven and your life transformed. Unfortunately, his actions are doing nothing more than inviting the reactions he received.

Anon 4 - I think he was aiming more for the warning labels on cigarette packets than tattooing camp internees.
Anon 1 - what he said is fairly consistent with the way most of the Christian world interpret the Bible - apprently this does not gel with the CoE. Surprise!

What about catholic and anglican priests having tattooed to their foreheads "contact with this priest may lead to a sore anus".
