France bans protests over Prophet Mohammad cartoons

This is undoubtedly an infringement of free speech but since Muslims do their best to deny free speech to others, there is a certain justice in it

France confirmed on Friday it would allow no street protests against cartoons denigrating Islam's Prophet Mohammad that were published by a French magazine this week.

Interior Minister Manuel Valls said prefects throughout the country had orders to prohibit any protest over the issue and crack down if the ban was challenged.

"There will be strictly no exceptions. Demonstrations will be banned and broken up," he said.

Backbone from the French? Amazing! Too bad their British neighbors refuse to muster that kind of courage. Come to think of it, America could learn something from this as well. But don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen, not while political correctness rules. Of course, having a Muslim in the White House doesn't help.

What France has showing is the true colour of socialism and the progressives. Once in power, they will proceed to turn on anyone challenging their authority, even those who thought they were allies or "immuned". So much for fair weather friends. Imagine if a conservative government did this?

France is reaping what it sowed by allowing large numbers of arabs to settle in France. Now that they are established as French citizens, France will continue to have these problems indefinitely.

They will allow no protests?
Isn't that funny. I suspect Louis felt the same way in mid 1789...
Didn't work out so well for him.
Demonstration is what created the French Republic. How dare they attempt to ban it - no matter how stupid the motivation.

And the only alternative is a Mormon - and the crazy stuff they believe as "reality". Will a Scientologist or a Moonie be running next time as the "Leader of the Free World"?? (And we criticize the religious weirdos of the MiddleEast!)
