Students Throw Cotton Balls, Are Arrested for Felony Hate Crime

Where is the law that says it is a crime to throw cotton? It would makes some sense at law if they were charged with littering but anything else is making the law up as you go along
"Two students at the University of Missouri-Columbia were suspended Wednesday after their arrests in a case of cotton balls thrown across the lawn of the campus black-culture center.

Campus police on Tuesday evening arrested the students, one of whom is from the St. Louis area, on suspicion of a felony hate crime. The two were released on bond, and charges were pending.

The incident happened early Friday at the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center, near the middle of campus. Nathan Stephens, the center’s coordinator, said students were offended because of the “symbolic violence” that harkened to days of slavery on cotton plantations.

Blacks must not be reminded of cotton? If the students behind it are discovered to have Leftist symathies, it will be decided that they were simply drawing attention to the hard labor that blacks were once forced to do in the cotton plantations.

You are right about that! What no one ever hears is how many non-black people picked cotton. I am of Native American ancestry, & my grandmother, mother, & her brothers & sisters all picked cotton. My mother & her siblings did it much of the time they were growing up. But I guess this would be classified as "hate speech" since I'm not a left-wing liberal.

Talk to people that grew up in Alabama and you will meet a lot of white people that picked cotton as kids.

My father picked cotton as a child, a white family in southeast Missouri. How many of these black campus kids have actually picked any cotton. Hell, I was taught to pick cotton by my grandfather even though combines now do all the work. These people seem like stuck up, over sensative crybaby children.

Those good-for-nothing, cotton-picking authorities at Missouri ought to hold on one cotton-picking minute and use their brains. They claim throwing cotton is a hate crime? They ought to shut their God-damned, cotton-picking mouths that speak such falsehoods.

This is a big part of the problem with so called 'hate crimes'.
People who have persecution complexes look for them everywhere. The professional offense-takers conjure them up. Then people have to look behind every action to try to find some hidden meaning which is 'offensive'.

The guys would probably get a much lesser sentence if they would have just beat the sh*t out of some of the Black guys.

Being "offended" has become a major source of income for many people in this PC'ized country. I just wonder if the people will wake-up some day. I truly doubt they will, but i still wonder.
