Feminists say hospital's breast cancer campaign is sexist

We read:
"Polish feminists have objected to a hospital's breast cancer prevention slogan which they say encourages workplace harassment.

The Gazeta Wyborcza says the slogan "I check the breasts of my workers on my own" was devised by a cancer hospital in the southern town of Opole and aimed at convincing employers to encourage their female workers to have their breasts checked regularly for cancer symptoms.

"This is a sexist slogan that obviously brings sexual molestation to mind," the head of the Feminoteka foundation, Joanna Piotrowska, was quoted on the website as saying.

POLISH FEMINISTS ARE AGAINST WARNING WOMEN ABOUT BREAST CANCER.
(it's a little trick i learned from the Left;))

Being Polish, i'm surprised they don't feel their feet looking for breast lumps.

JJR,

Anonymous comments are OK, but might you consider at least encouraging people to come up w/a handle - e.g. "Red Hat" - so that we can tell one anonymous commenter apart from another?

Or perhaps you could append an otherwise meaningless number to their signature based on a cookie or on their i.p. address.

Or something?

I think the dialogs in the comment section would grow better if people could talk to each other in such a fashion.

/my telling you how to run your life :)

I have noticed that some sites put an icon next to a commenter's name or anonymous handle (such as on icanhascheezburger.com and related sites, as an example), and it seems to be consistent for similar IP addresses. That would be one way that different anonymous commenters could be distinguished.

Robert,

I think that's called a gravatar, presuming I'm thinking of the same ones as you are.

But if so, I think it might be based on your email address. Not positive, tho, cuz I don't really use them, I just know they exist.

Still, the idea of an identifier (that nonetheless preserves your anonymity) seems like simething that would make this site easier to comment on. It helps to know who you're talking with.

In that case, why don't YOU list your full name and address so that we may all know to whom we are speaking.

And make himself a target for bastards who think it's fun to harass people? Riiiigggghhhht… Anyone who would do so is a fool.

In fact, back when this blog was more civil, I used to use my real name. But I switched to this handle because of the dishonesty of some who like the ability to use "Anonymous" to pretend they didn't write things they actually wrote, strengthening their ability to troll.

Easy - full name and address is not necessary to know to whom one is speaking. Plus, considering the nature of many governments, including the Obama administration, a large degree of anonymity can even make the difference on matters of survival. More realistically, who would want to put out more information than necessary, so that identity thieves could steal it?

"Sex is bad, say feminists -- which shows how weird they are" Actually it shows how unlikely they are to get any. TheOldMan.

I do think that anonymous commenters should sign their comments with some sort of identifier. A nickname will do.

But if they don't use any identfier, maybe they don't want to be taken seriously.
