The disintegration of the First Amendment

The Obama Administration has engaged in an unprecedented assault on the First Amendment which is accelerating as he expands the reach of government using regulatory powers well beyond their legal limitations.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall famously wrote in McCulloch v. Maryland, one of our nation’s foundational legal decisions, that the power to tax is necessarily the power to destroy.  Rather than being warded off by this admonition, Obama’s IRS is in the process of formalizing regulations that would eliminate the tax exempt status of social welfare groups that engage in political discussion.  The net effect is to give the government the power to tax political speech, and destroy this basic right.

On the business front, the Securities Exchange Commission, yes the SEC (not the scandal ridden college football conference) is engaged in rulemaking that would require publicly traded corporations to disclose donations to social welfare groups in an attempt to stop them from protecting their corporate interests against an avaricious government that has a constant knife to their throats.

The Labor Department and the National Labor Relations Board are seeking to tilt the scales toward Big Labor by forcing union elections as quickly as ten days after a union calls for them, and effectively denying a company advice on what can be legally said to their employees and how they can say it.

In Wisconsin, conservative supporters of Governor Scott Walker have had their homes raided by a local prosecutor who doubles as an ardent opponent of Walker’s in a blatant legal attack on these citizens ability to participate in the political process.  The simple fact that this Gestapo-like tactic can occur in a state that was the cradle of the original progressive movement which opened politics to public participation is particularly chilling.

We know that Obama’s Department of Justice has wiretapped AP reporters phones in an attempt to break constitutionally protected source confidentiality, and FoxNews reporter James Rosen is being prosecuted by this Administration for reporting national security news.

And Obama’s Department of Homeland Security conducted an early morning raid of the home of a Washington Times reporter over alleged firearm violations.  During the raid, they happened to confiscate the reports notes related to an investigative report dealing with malfeasance at the TSA.  These notes included the names of her internal agency whistleblowers ending not only the reporting, but also most likely the careers of the whistleblowers involved.

Shocked by this list?  It doesn’t even include the NSA domestic spying or hate crimes legislation that put religious leaders in jeopardy for preaching Biblical truths, or congressional efforts to license who should be considered a journalist.

What is really shocking is that every news outlet in the nation isn’t screaming at the top of their lungs decrying these varied, real and destructive attacks on the First Amendment.  The fourth estate which has vigorously defended the speech rights of pornographers, flag burners and “artists” who the government paid to place a crucifix in urine are strangely missing in action when it comes to Obama’s dismantling of the First Amendment.

This is why we desperately need an aggressive Republican administration to follow this one, one that will go after and prosecute all of these abusers. What we don't need is another Democratic regime which will either cover up and continue to protect these abusers or a Republican one which ignores the need for a serious house-cleaning.

And this all started with Bush's Patriot Act.

"Bible truths" HA! - that's an oxymoron, as any truth in that random and disparate collection of ancient musings (canon) can't be separated from fiction in its content; otherwise there would have been far fewer religious wars or conflicts since - that have been spread all around the World (many very bloody ones indeed!) - which at least justifies one statement in the Bible canon - "judge a tree by the fruit it bears" (or words to that effect).

And this all started with Bush's Patriot Act.

Not just that. The Bush administration engaged in accruing more power to the executive branch in other ways, just not as blatantly illegally as the Obama administration. Exhibit A: the Department of Homeland Security. Exhibit B: the Travel Suppression Agency, er, Transportation Security Administration.

And now the power behind Bush, Carl Rove is actively participating in the RINO side of the Republican establishment attacking and pushing actual conservatives out of the party.

While I think it's been the case since the Bush 41 administration that the two parties have only been Democrat and Democrat Lite, it's only now that open warfare has broken out and the establishment RINOs have openly exposed themselves as such.

The USA as we know it will not survive. The sane areas will ultimately separate from the insane ones, de facto or de jure.

Eventually - not all that long, actually - they will come back together again for pragmatic reasons, but in a union more closely approximating the original conception of a union of independent states.

The world will see some "interesting times" for awhile.

should be:

The Conservative USA as we know it will not survive.

The Conservative USA as we know it will not survive.

Classically, Conservatism and Liberalism were each on the opposite sides of the fence.

Liberalism won, so the top-down conservatives of the day appropriated their opponents' name (augmenting it with "progressive" on occasion, perhaps as a joke) and carried on with their agenda.

Classical liberalism will win the day largely because it can deliver the goods and modern liberalism will die off. Modern conservatives, aka classical libs, will weather the storms just fine.

Modern libs, aka progressives aka medieval conservatives, will not, at least till some future generations forget these differences again.

38-40 pct of Americans identify themselves as "conservative" while only 22pct as "liberal" . Conservatives are the biggest block in the USA and will continue to be. hoping they die or go away is foolish hope.

Yes, correct an all counts.

Remember, the troll merely wants to get a rise out of somebody. Kinda like tweenie girls cutting themselves, it's all it's got to prove it exists. When it gets a life, it will no longer need to act out in this manner.

stink,

Take a look at this:

Trolls just want to have fun

Overall, strong positive associations emerged among online commenting frequency, trolling enjoyment, and troll identity, pointing to a common construct underlying the measures. Both studies revealed similar patterns of relations between trolling and the Dark Tetrad of personality: trolling correlated positively with sadism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism, using both enjoyment ratings and identity scores. Of all personality measures, sadism showed the most robust associations with trolling and, importantly, the relationship was specific to trolling behavior. Enjoyment of other online activities, such as chatting and debating, was unrelated to sadism. Thus cyber-trolling appears to be an Internet manifestation of everyday sadism.

ANYONE who disagrees with stinky or luke are trolls.

No, just the trolls are trolls. They are distinguishable by their insecure tweenie egos that cause them to insult others in a vain attempt to build themselves up. Classic high-school and pre-high-school behavior.

Stage 2 in such behavior usually involves getting someone to say something bad about them and then yelling "See! You're the same!". This is called projective identification, yet another feature of the narcissism common to those of tweenie age and/or those stuck emotionally at that level.
