Must not mention that a fat person is fat?

Britain:

Three builders who posted a photograph of a householder’s large shorts on Facebook have been sacked.  Under the picture of one of the men holding up the denim shorts was the comment ‘the fattest person I have seen in my life’.

But the resident, who has not been identified, was said to be horrified by the incident at the housing association-run Maesgerchen estate, in Bangor, North Wales.

Local councillor Chris O’Neal, who was contacted by the resident, said: ‘He is absolutely disgusted. His family are fuming about this.  ‘There is a lot of bad feeling towards the workers. The man was absolutely distraught and gutted.’

If he feels so embarassed, why doesn't he do something about his weight. Are we are supposed to act like there is no elephant in the living room? (pun intended)

I might not have fired these three lunkheads. But that would only be if they were otherwise very good employees and I thought they could learn to never do something like this again. If they kept their jobs, they would be on a very tight leash. Either way, they would not enjoy that conversation, and there is no way they would ever return to that site.

It wouldn't because they mentioned that the customer was fat, but because they invaded his privacy. You do not go rooting through a customers personal property and taking pictures of it. You especially do not post those pictures on the internet.

When someone hires you to come into their house to do some work, they are extending trust to you that you will respect their privacy. These three yahoos violated that trust.

I have to agree with Luke on this one

Those men definitely deserved to be fired!! It has nothing to do with the pants being fat!! The idea of someone working on my home going through and pawing my things creeps me out. Even worse, they posted pictures online. What if it was a woman and they posted pictures online of her lace panties and said something about how hot she is? I'm sick of the over-sensitivity of the obeisity issue, but EVERYONE deserves privacy in their own how no matter what they weigh. I'm a bit disappointed with the ridiculous interpretation put on this article. Saying they got fired just because the person they made fun of is fat, is like people saying the only reason I don't like Barak Obama is because he is black.

Looks like builders in Wales use child-labor! Or perhaps it was a really a shot of a kid showing his Dad's clothes!
