Fact-free hate speech from MSNBC

And they get some pretty ripe speech back by way of reply,  as is fitting

MSNBC’s continuous string of near slander against Mitt Romney has just spawned yet another aggressive bit of push-back, this time from Neil Cavuto of Fox News. You may recall that MSNBC anchor Lawrence O‘Donnell recently slammed Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, for claiming that she participates in the sport of dressage as therapy for her multiple sclerosis. According to O’Donnell, “There are a lot of things you can do to try to deal with MS.  But come on, dressage does not appear in any of the more traditional courses of treatment.”

Turns out that that assertion is breathtakingly wrong, as Cavuto pointed out while citing multiple clinical organizations that treat multiple sclerosis and consider horse therapy a very traditional, and often very effective form of therapy.

He then proceeds to go right for the jugular, while still remaining preternaturally calm, calling MSNBC a collection of “horse’s asses“ and slamming them as ”condescending, sanctimonious“ people with ”incredible ignorance” of multiple sclerosis treatments.

This isn't about medical treatment. This is nothing more than Liberals attacking their opposition in desperation.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

What's unsaid is that Mr. Cavuto has personal experience with MS, as he, too, has the disease.

As a parent with children of special needs, I could empathise with the Romney's. The left has aways blustered they are more caring and "knowledgeable" when it comes to children (it's for the children mantra). But statements like O'Donnell's shows their true ignorant, cavalier, and callous attitude. Like Mr. Cavuto, l've also seen proving clinical reports of the therapy equestrian gives people with special needs. These ignorant and arrogant lefties catagorically state they are smarter than the unkept masses and demand their right to rule. Then you see the real cost of their shallow believes and they want US to believe them let alone govern? Letting the left govern would be TRUE ignorance.

First, it's very refreshing to see someone from Fox being so honest. They are usually so crippled by "PC-speak" that they're almost unable to speak normally.

Also, this story is yet another opportunity for the American people to clearly see how the MSM has been, and continues to, abuse their First Amendment protections. While the Constitution guarantees unlimited protections to the press, there are no such protections for political operatives, which is obviously what the MSM have become.

Freedom of the press? Freedom to do what?

This goes with the above comment.

imagine, liberals attacking a crippled person on TV. Where's the outrage? They are so partisan and filled with hate. O'Donnell should be fired immediately for such non-journalistic bias.

Riding for the Disabled is a fairly well known charity here in Aus. I am fairly sure it operates in other countries too.
Equestrian therapy is hardly unknown.
It is just another class-war dogwhistle.

This one's adorable. O'Donnell makes a joke, not about MS, but about the particularly stupid sport she's involved in. Cavuto decides to turn it around and pretend like O'Donnell attacked Ms Romney for her disease.

Here's a part of the transcript in question:

Now, this is not in any way to make light of Ann Romney’s difficulty with MS, it's obviously a very difficult thing to bear. And there are a lot of things you can do to try to deal with MS. But, come on, dressage does not appear in any of the more traditional courses of treatment. And if it's true that dressage is how wildly rich people deal with this very difficult personal health problem, then why, why does the horse appear on Mitt Romney’s tax return as a business expense, that in 2010 produced a $77,000 business deduction. Not a healthcare deduction, a business deduction for the Romney Limited Liability Corporation that owns the horse as a business.

Mitt Romney was afraid to identify a single tax deduction that he would eliminate or reduce, but I think we can be sure that the Olympic athlete in the Romney family, the horse that masquerades as Ann’s horse, but that is never actually ridden by Ann, would continue to be a fake deductible business expense if Mitt and Ann ever get to watch their Olympic athlete on a TV in the White House.

Choosing one of the most expensive (and particularly goofy) methods of riding a horse as your "therapy" is an unusual choice, wouldn't you say? And O'Donnell even admitted (first sentence I quoted there) that her MS was a terrible disease.

So Cavuto is being disengenuous for attacking O'Donnell by twisting his words, and you people and your fake outrage is just hilarious.

Pretty thin line there, nameless troll. He basically says Ann Romney is a stupid stuck-up rich bitch (oh, but MS is horrible, btw). As for taxes, who can make heads or tails out of the tax code, but I assume he got a better deduction as a business expense. Riding the horse to help with MS is just a bonus. I just know why anybody cares about it and finds it necessary to try and make a story out of it? I'd like to see some private detective go over O'Donnell's tax returns and see what stupid things he does in his private life, and then report it as news.

Nameless:

Dressage is no morte 'goofy' than any other sport people enjoy. There isn't a sport out there, even those I enjoy, that can't be considered goofy by some.

As for expensive, I know two middle class ladies who have participated in dressage. One doesn't have to be wealthy to enjoy riding.

You must have missed all the references to horseback riding as therapy not only for MS but other conditions as well in Mr. Cavutyo's piece and in the comments above.

But then, anything, no matter hoe tenuous, to disparage a conservative. Right?

Really? This is a sport? The damned horse looks like it's in line for the bathroom, the people are dressed up in honest-to-god jodhpurs (did I spell that right?), and top hats - worn un-ironically, like they think Mr Peanut is a fashion icon or something.

But that's entirely beside the point. Cavuto, like he does, lied about what O'Donnell said. Because he's an ass, and desperate to find something to attack with.

Here's the video. Maybe you should watch the thing you obviously haven't seen.

What's equally interesting is the doctored video Andrea Mitchell showed. They then weaseled that they didn't cut anything out or show anything out of order. They justcut it short to cut out the end point he was trying to make about government buracracy vs private innovation.

Unknown: I watched the video, and then read the transcript. And copied this quote ;

". . .yes, the sport of dressage. not many people are familiar with, but something for which she has a passion, and frankly, her getting back on a horse after she was diagnosed with ms was able, she's convinced, to help her regenerate her strength and renew that vigor. . . . now, this is not in any way to make light of ann romney 's difficulty with ms, it's obviously a very difficult thing to bear. and there are a lot of things you can do to try to deal with ms, but, come on, dressage does not appear in any of the more traditional courses of treatment. and if it's true that dressage is how wildly rich people deal with this very difficult personal health problem, . . ."

O'Donnel's ignorance shows through quite well, as does his disdain for people with wealth.

As for his claim that Mrs. Romney never rides the horse, she's truing it. When training a horse one usually rides it, if she's training it, she rides it.

Business expense? Of course it is. Buy a good horse, train it and gain medical benefit in the process, then sell it for a profit and buy another one.

Perhaps O'Donnel needs enlightenment not only in equine therapy and MS, but in capitalism as well.

His entire piece is a slam not only at Mitt Romney, but at Ann Romney, the wealthy, and, of course, Republicans in general.

Dressage is no less a sport than baseball, soccer, rugby or auto racing. All of them are enjoyed by many, and all can be seen as pointless activities.
