Must not deviate from the official wisdom about homosexuality

An administrator at the University of Toledo says the unsayable:

"In the column in The Toledo Free Press, Dixon asserted that gay people can change their sexual orientation and questioned how gay people could ever be considered "civil rights victims."

Wrote Dixon: "As a Black woman who happens to be an alumnus of the University of Toledo's Graduate School, an employee and business owner, I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are `civil rights victims.' Here's why. I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a Black woman. I am genetically and biologically a Black woman and very pleased to be so as my Creator intended. Daily, thousands of homosexuals make a life decision to leave the gay lifestyle...."

Dixon also cited as evidence for her position "irrefutable" data showing higher than average salaries of gay people, and she cited religious teachings. "There is a divine order. God created human kind male and female (Genesis 1:27). God created humans with an inalienable right to choose. There are consequences for each of our choices, including those who violate God's divine order. It is base human nature to revolt and become indignant when the world or even God Himself, disagrees with our choice that violates His divine order," she wrote. "Jesus Christ loves the sinner but hates the sin (John 8:1-11.) Daily, Jesus Christ is radically transforming the lives of both straight and gay folks and bringing them into a life of wholeness: spiritually, psychologically, physically and even economically. That is the ultimate right."

While Dixon did not identify herself as the university's chief HR official, she referenced university policies and her job is well known among those who work at the university.

The university's anti-bias policies explicitly state that discrimination protections cover sexual orientation, and university officials have condemned anti-gay discrimination. In addition, while university officials have said that they are working to obtain partner benefits for gay employees, some have criticized the university for not doing enough in that regard.

A spokesman for the university confirmed that she was on paid leave because of the column. There may be further action, the spokesman said, following a meeting between Dixon and Lloyd Jacobs, president of the university.... Equality Toledo, a gay rights organization, has called on the university to dismiss Dixon.

I'm sorry - did I miss the part where to work for your employer, you must espouse all of their political rhetoric?

Are they saying that any University Employee who does not espouse their great wisdom is subject to discipline?

Perhaps a review of her job performance would reveal a competent, intelligent, and most importantly unbiased woman.

Sounds like the University taking out a Conservative Black Woman - their worst nightmare.

So much for freedom of speech and thought at an institution of higher learning.

The professional "victims" violate the rights of a real minority.

I don't like the term minority but I'm using that term because blacks had not been considered human in the USA for centuries before we obtained our civil rights and were acknowledged as human beings.

Let's face it can anyone identify a homosexual/Lesbian by their DNA or by how they look?

A intellectually honest leftist would admit they can't. Wait last time I checked leftists don't believe absolute truths so them being intellectually honest is an oxymoron.

Heck the whole gay rights movement is dishonest!

If gays just wanted people to treat them with common courtesy I wouldn't deny them that.

I think politically active gays are militant and hell bent on forcing you to agree them and if possible with the threat of legal retribution!

It seems to me that the "gays" feel threatened by the thought that it's possible to change from being gay to being not gay. They don't want to face that fact that gays are made, not born. NO ONE IS BORN GAY.

So where is the freedom to be GAY if one wants to be gay - whether or not it's a lifestyle choice or the dictate of genes??

Gays don't have a "civil right" to be gay, so Ms. Dixon is correct. I think she has one hell of a lawsuit!

Being born gay is a great myth!

A study of 5,000 identical twins was done in Australia a couple of years ago. When one twin was gay, only 26% of the time the other twin was also gay. Now if gay were born that way and Gil Grisome of CSI couldn’t tell the different between the twins DNA, how could anybody be born gay?

And most Sodomites that I have met, aren’t that gay!!! Most have moments of happiness, followed by long periods of sadness. So they are threatened by the mere idea that they could switch!

And then the fun, that when a person that lived in the gay lifestyle for years switches to being heterosexual, the gay community decides that the person wasn’t really gay in the first place, but that the person decided to be gay and wasn’t born that way, which is what we are already saying. Either a person can decide their sexual orientation or they are born that way. So if a person was gay and now ain’t, which is it?

'gay gene' is meaningless. All behavior and personality is either directly or indirectly related to genetic inheritance. Environment will act on those proclivities. Twins may have the propensity to be homosexual but they will experience a unique experience of the world that may suppress or enhance that willingness to be, or to be called "gay". The same may apply to anyone in general.

"Most have moments of happiness, followed by long periods of sadness."

---Yeah? Well that's life for EVERYBODY. Show me anyone who is happy every single day, an employee that likes his boss and his job every single day.

If your kind is so goddam perfect, then why do they need articles like this?

No one is claiming that Christians are perfect. God says no man is.
One reason that a Christian has problems is because he still has his old Adamic nature. When person is 'born anew' he then has the nature of God in the person of the Holy Spirit indwelling him. The old nature is not eradicated, therefore we have internal conflict.

I wrote a letter to Mr. Miller regarding his article, Ms. Dixon's response to such, and the outrage it has caused. Hopefully he'll be as "open-minded" as he expects us to be regarding homosexuality. I was extremely respectful to Mr. Miller. Unfortunately, I'm sure that I'll be slapped with some sort of nasty label.

Again, I just love how the supposedly enlightened, fair-minded, tolerant liberal left 1) will not tolerate free speech unless its speech they agree with, 2) won’t debate based on merits of thought, or debate the science behind the idea. Rather, they resort to labeling the speaker with hateful comments, name calling, or doing whatever they can to stiffle a free and open discussion of the issues. Now THAT’s pursuit of higher understanding, free exchange of ideas and rational social intercourse. I’m embarassed to call myself a liberal to be associated with these closed-minded ‘thugs’. Pity.

Lest we forget one of the fundamental principles of the left,
"do as we say, not as we do".

"It seems to me that the "gays" feel threatened by the thought that it's possible to change from being gay to being not gay. They don't want to face that fact that gays are made, not born. NO ONE IS BORN GAY."

Must be nice, to be so certain, without any proof.

He damns the left for claiming people are born gay, because there's no proof - and then he say clearly they're not born gay, and yet he has no proof.

If one twin is gay, the other must also be gay, and most of the time they're not. Therefore, that proves it is not genetic! Huh? If one twin is born male, must the other also be born male? What about non-identical twins? They don't even look alike!

The pseudo-scientific thinking on display here makes me want to reread global warming articles for their scintillating scientific basis (heh - at least compared to what's being said here.)

And, yes, I am gay. Since birth? Who knows? Since puberty, for sure. Never had even a warm reaction to women, let alone anything incandescantly hot as what seems to drive behavior in most teenage movies.

I have no idea why I'm gay, and I do not subscribe to "the gay agenda", which is just another leftist attempt at total culture control. I'm gay because I was forced to stay at the dinner table until I cleaned my plate. Why not? There's just as much scientific basis for THAT as for anything I've read here. It gets irritating seeing blatant bias (on the left and the right) masquerading as absolute truth.

I DON'T KNOW WHY I AM GAY. AND YOU DON'T EITHER! (left or right).

And by the way... if gays make up about 2% of the population, but 26% of the time with twins both are gay... that's a rather startling anomaly, isn't it? Perhaps it's just bad parenting. Or maybe Mom used a TAD too much oregano in too many dinners. I know! Inorganic sulfates in washing machine detergent affecting underwear! That's the cause! No, it's the use of high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar! Margarine instead of butter!

So someone with extreme vested interest succeeds in "converting" a gay to be non-gay.

I've seen too many stories of such converted people being found furtively hanging out in gay bars and, um, backsliding.

You can die your genetic hair color to a different color, yet if you're not careful, the roots always show. Total committed effort is necessary to hide the change, and it CAN be done. In the case of "gay conversion", I don't think it happens in either direction. You can repress what you are or you can rebel or you can... just about anything. But the truth always emerges eventually.

From what I heard there's a lot of hateful comments posted against Ms. Dixon on homosexual blogs.

As the saying goes any dissenting thought would be stamp out by any means.

Gay is not a race, nor that it's innate. The whole gay gene is a myth, a modern day flat earth concept.
