The comment raised eyebrows in the audience and offended some who were told about the remark afterward on the grounds that it perpetuates stereotypes about Mexicans

I wonder would Scalia be offended if told that his ancestors drank Chianti? I suspect not. I certainly would not be offended to be told that Australians drink a lot of beer. They do.
