"Lez" is a bad word

Australia:
"Taking inspiration from her perennially polarising co-host Kyle Sandilands, it was Jackie O suffering from foot in mouth syndrome yesterday, drawing the ire of gay rights groups following a homophobic on-air remark.

Discussing the topic of middle names just after 6am on the 2DayFM breakfast show, the mother of one said she no longer likes her middle name Ellen because it "sounds a bit lez".

A clear reference to famous US comedian and openly gay chat show queen Ellen DeGeneres, it was no surprise the comment quickly put O in the firing line of gay and lesbian rights advocates and once again surrounded the radio program in controversy, four days into their new radio cycle, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The gay extremists are the radical extremists in pink

Wow, does nearly every so-called example of offending the concept of free-speech selected by Jon-Jay have to highlight lesbian, gays, atheists, and leftists, if he is actually impartially interested in the concept of free-speech, or does he have a personal issue with those topics for some freudian reason? Or is he cynically provoking an audience of mainly homophobic, xenophobic and conservative religious followers, as it would seem by the majority of comments he gets here.

These people must sit at home and monitor the radio/TV for ANY hint of offence, then spring into action!

Just more whining from perpetually offended!

Anon 4:47 am - For one simple reason: those are the groups that tend to violate free speech!

Fine, don't call her a "Lez", just call her a "dyke" and be done with it.

I just made sure to teach the evil minions how to win a round of verbal volleyball. It beats being a whiner.

Oh, and calling the lesbian evil minion a lez, dyke, ect...really bad idea. Last guy she verbally disassembled for that in the middle of the mall was so flabbergasted that by the time she dismissed his sorry ass she got a round of applause from the people that had stopped to listen.

@Flue-Bird said, "Would DAME.GAL,DOLL or DISH be too sexists?"

Yes, probably, but it would also be very inaccurate, because she is a LESBIAN, not a STRAIGHT woman.
