Must not depict Obama alongside Hitler and Lenin

Even though there are many ideological similarities. But displaying pictures of GWB with a Hitler mustache etc. were just fine, of course
"The North Iowa Tea Party has removed a billboard comparing President Obama's socialism to Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin after holocaust survivor groups and many on the organized Left objected, according to an Associated Press story for July 14.

The billboard claimed that "Radical leaders prey on the fearful & naive," and had Obama's "Democrat Socialism" between Hitler's "National Socialism" and Lenin's "Marxist Socialism."

“The message they intended was to point out the similarities between Obama’s policies and the socialist policies of Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin,” communications specialist Michael Fiala of Mason City, Iowa, explained in his blog, “like nationalized health care, the collusion of government and business to interfere with free markets, and government collaboration with labor unions aimed at control to name a few.”

Indeed, Hitler's National Socialism bailed out the automobile industry in the depths of the depression, creating Volkswagen as a state socialist enterprise, similar to how the Bush-Obama policy utilized bailout funds to rescue General Motors and Chrysler.

But the image of Obama sandwiched on the billboard by Hitler and Lenin overshadowed the project. "The purpose of the billboard was to draw attention to the socialism. It seems to have been lost in the visuals," North Iowa Tea Party leader Bob Johnson told the Associated Press for July 13. "The pictures overwhelmed the message.”

An emotional reaction has nothing to with whether or not something is actually true.

I would say the billboard was hated because it hit the mark, and many people couldn't handle the truth.

Silly - "socialism" clearly takes many forms - indeed like Christianity does. There are the extreme forms like Hitler's nationalist version and Lenin's marxist version (and of course Hitler was vehemently opposed to marxism); just as there are extremist Christians in all kinds of fringe sects. Each of these socialist or christian versions will of course claim the others as false and misguided.
In many western countries "socialism" and "capitalism" function very well together in a symbiosis, and in doing so offset the disadvantages of either while enjoying the advantages of both.

Name one.

One could almost miss the anti-Christian message above if you're not paying attention.

How typical for the "professional sympathy seekers", (a.k.a. holocaust survivors) to always come out to protect their beloved communism.

I disagree fully.
Christ never espoused any political view. He never espoused coerced yielding of monitary or physical assets. He did allow for voluntary charity. The difference between what Christ taught and socialism is Choice! You choose to follow Christ, you are forced to support a Socialist government.

There is more evidence that Christ was married to a women (or even women) than that he was homosexual.

Christians often claim if you don't follow Christ you go to Hell. Not much of a choice there!

He said you should give all to the poor if you want to enter the Kingdom of Heavan. And to give no thought for the morrow (how fiscally wise!)

There is more evidence that Christ was a woman, cloned from his mother, unless god has DNA; which would not make him/her/it a god, would it?

It doesn’t matter what is true, people will still believe what they want.

In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs.

Interesting about the naked youth in the Garden of G. who Jesus spent the night with!

---Let's do an experiment, let's count the number of Americans immigrating to Europe versus the number of Europeans immigrating to America, which one do you think is the greater number? I'm guessing European.

Moreover, if socialism is so great in Europe, how come Greece is bankrupt?

Of course, the silly europeans love sacrificing freedom for security. They don't mind riding tiny cars, paying $10+ a liter for gas, taking crowded public transportation, and working shorter hours as long as the government pays for their health care and decent pensions.

And don't get me started on the European worship of royalty, it isn't just England, you should see them drooling every time some monarch in Holland, Spain, Monaco, Belgium, Liechtenstein, etc, gets married. It makes me sick. In America we worship celebrities, athletes, movie stars, business moguls... Why? Because in America we worship ACCOMPLISHMENT.

You see, in this country being born is not enough to be admired, even if it's making a fool of yourself on reality TV, at least you did something. Of course, Europeans cannot understand that because in their world, you're either a subject or a master.

In America, we're all masters of our destinies, free to choose and free to fail and free to speak our minds without being put in prison for hate speech. So whatever, Europe, keep your stupid pension because when it comes to my retirement, I'd rather fund a 401k or have my parents buy life insurance than depend on a greedy bankrupted government to provide me what I can get on my own.

Anon 3:32: You have a choice. Accept or reject. Christians did not originate the claim that Christ is the only way, but Christ does. "I am THE way" John 14:6.

I guess Booby has really fallen for all the self-serving propaganda of the "American Dream" - did he notice how capitalism nearly brought the USA to another financial collapse, and government had to bail it out, and how american toxic assets were passed on to europe and around the world, so that countries like greece, iceland and ireland were also brought to the edge of bankruptcy. I don't see large numbers of west europeans emigrating to the States, why would they!

As for the "accomplishments" of american celebrities - they epitomize american superficiality, vacuity and material decadence.

---You're like the guy who uses a rocket launcher to kill a cockroach. Yes, corruption exists in any system, the solution isn't to destroy the system but to punish the wrongdoers and move on. Besides, capitalism works when the government doesn't bail out companies.

"As for the "accomplishments" of american celebrities - they epitomize american superficiality, vacuity and material decadence."

---Material decadence? Do you know how many people benefit when a celebrity buys a Jet, a yacht, a $90,000 watch, a second home, etc? You have any idea how many jobs each one of those purchases creates?

Some mega-yachts require a crew of 20 just to take the thing from point A to point B. That's 20 happy people that get to do what they love because some billionaire or millionaire feels like going to the St. Croix.

Don't lecture me about American superficiality when your own Prince Harry can't scratch his ass without a paparazzi taking a picture and the British public going insane.

Bobby, Anon 8:08 is obviously a communist and they're not known for understanding or accepting logic and fact. It's also why they are devoted followers of Obamunism, a cult for those too weak and stupid to think for themselves. Their motto?

Pass The Kool-Aid Comrade!

I think the US media take more notice of the British royals than the British do. No doubt because it's more of the glitter and glamor the american public is attracted to, as a distraction from its own boring existence, where a daily highlight may be a visit to Walmart or Homedepot and then a burger at McDonalds!

---I know what you mean, the great Obama who can do no wrong. Except that he's doing plenty of wrong, even the left is pissed off with him. Remember Rosie O'donnel? She wanted ol' Barry to seize BP.

I love her quote "seize the assets...call it communism, call it socialism, I don't care."

Booby you confuse me even more - now you're applauding or at least amused by the prospect of a communist/socialist seizure of an international company's assets.

Bobby, you are funny! You justify the wealth and extravagant expenditure of American celebrities and plutocrats because it creates jobs, but you condemn the European royals. Has it occurred to you that they also provide a huge range of employment on a wide front. Some of them are also heads of state, so they probably cost no more or less than a presidency, while their families are useful in a range of economic activities. Have you taken the trouble to see all the projects that Prince Charles has initiated and takes a direct involvement in, for instance? Probably you're too prejudiced to be in any way objective! Surprise, surprise!

--When I said "I love her comment" I meant "I love how she exposes the communist agenda of progressives." Everyone who read waht I write knows I would never support illegal seizures, I don't even like eminent domain laws and I'm certainly against the $20 billion shakedown of BP by Obama.

"Bobby, you are funny! You justify the wealth and extravagant expenditure of American celebrities and plutocrats because it creates jobs, but you condemn the European royals."

---Well Mr. European, why don't you ask where the royals got their wealth? The monarchy in England has been taxing the peasants for centuries, have they not?

"Have you taken the trouble to see all the projects that Prince Charles has initiated and takes a direct involvement in, for instance?"

---And this is excuse enough to bow before them? To worship them? To love them? You don't get it, in America we love the person who comes from nothing and makes it big, yet we would never stand to refer to Donald Trump as Sir. Donald Trump or to Paris Hilton as Duchess Hilton. I'm even uncomfortable referring to Elton John as Sir. Elton John.

Your British monarchy is such a joke, Princess Diana would have been a nobody had she not married Prince Charles. Yet she marries some royal guy and all of a sudden she's important. In America you need more than a name to be important, even Paris Hilton had to do something more than being born and getting married to stand above her peers.

Greed is a good thing, if you don't believe me, look at our negro rappers. All of them are wearing bling, gold rings, gold chains, diamonds, they drive Maserati, buy gigantic mansions, wear fur coats and spend money like it's going out of style.

Of course, people like you would rather see 50 cent pay 90% of his income taxes. Why? 50 cent is proof that when a negro decides not to be a druggie or a criminal he has a chance to make it big, even bigger than a white man.

You see, the beauty of this country is that even a criminal scum like 50 cent can lift himself up by the fruits of his own efforts and reach levels of wealth that most college educated people can only dream off.

I laugh at your pathetic politically-correct England. God save the Queen? God damn the Queen and her filthy royal family as far as I'm concerned.

Bobby - you are what's called an inverted snob, because you envy what others may have had more easily than yourself. It's understandable as many americans had to struggle from a poor immigrant background, but many other americans benefitted from rich origins in europe.
You are quite wrong to think even most europeans "worship" or are overly impressed by royalty; they simply take it as given, tho' some call themselves "republican" (not in the US sense). The royals like other rich people may have social privileges, but the rest of society has legal and constitutional rights just like americans (at least in western european countries like the UK and Scandinavia - whose royals you failed to mention for some reason among your list of some less royal families).

Anonymous said...

And you say Princess Diana was some nobody before she married Prince Charles - well she was already an aristrocrat as the daughter of an earl, and of royal lineage as a descendant of King Charles II (after whom some american states have been named).

Anonymous said...

The more recent Americans you quote built their fortunes on all the good and bad that had gone before in american history.
Booby you reveal yourself as a total inverted snob - eulogizing people who come from "ever so humble origins" and condemning others who had a more privileged background, no matter what good the latter may try to do with their obvious advantages to society.

---I see, so because people in the past used to own slaves I'm supposed to feel guilty about it? That's ridiculous.

---You're wrong, I simply don't admire name or breeding or origin but rather personal accomplishments. I like Paris Hilton not because her last name is Hilton but because the woman makes $3 million a year selling perfume, clothes, two TV shows, not to mention having a top-40 song, appearing in a movie, and getting paid anywhere from $50,000 to more than $100,000 to show up at a club and party.

Oh, and unlike Princess Diana, Paris is always nice to the paparazzi instead of calling them when she needed publicity for her anti-land mines campaign and bitching about them when they photographed her in other occasions. Paris loves the paparazzi so much that she will change her attire two or three times a day just so the photographers have a greater chance of selling the pictures they take of her.

No, Bobby, of course we are not personally responsible in any way for what our ancestors or compatriots or governments may have have done in the past, whether that was, or is, perceived as good or bad, but we can certainly benefit from it, and unavoidably do so !!
