Muslim hate speech to be prosecuted for once?
We read:
"Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister is considering pressing charges against a pro-Palestinian protester who allegedly hurled racist abuse at him during an address at the Oxford Union.
Danny Ayalon was addressing the student audience on Monday evening when protesters waving Palestinian flags began shouting in Arabic and English. One was alleged to have shouted the Arabic phrase “Idhbah al-yahud”, meaning “kill the Jews”, before being ejected by security.
The Israeli Embassy in London was examining video footage of the incident yesterday to determine whether the phrase was uttered. If so, it could lead to hate crimes charges. Mr Ayalon, a member of the right-wing nationalist party Yisrael Beitenu, said he had a moral duty to press charges against the protesters, believed to be a member of a pro-Palestinian student society at Oxford.

Because “kill the Jews” is an incitement to violence, it might not even be protected speech in the USA. And British law is much more restrictive than American law.

Is the right answer to a ridiculous law to use it in ridiculous ways?
I'm not so sure.
He should definitely sue, if the Arabs can't tolerate cartoons why should we tolerate death threats?
The Brits won't back him.
They're aware if the law suit were to go ahead there would be lots of nsaty riots.
Yes the 4 or 5-million Mooooslims have the time to riot since most of them are on the dole.
This sounds like the start of yet another back-and-forth Middle East event. The Muslim makes a threat. The Jew sues. Another Muslim car bombs in retaliation, Israel bombs Gaza in response, and so on and so on.
That part of the world is absolutely clueless of the concept of forgiveness.
"Kill the Jews" is probably not protected speech in America when uttered in such an environment. It sounds like an "incitement to violence" that is one of the 1st Amendment exceptions carved out by the SCOTUS.
And yes, I realize this happened in Britain - I'm just saying it might even be prosecutable in the US.
Well, if nothing else, it's nice to finally see someone with the balls to make muslims pay for their actions. Here in the US, the protestors would sue the speaker. And win!
Some day, the world will realize that the best way to deal with radicals, of any kind, is to treat them the same way they treat others.
Thanks, Stan B.... did you not read the entire thing? John already pointed out the whole U.S. 1st amendment thing
Expelled? Sorry. Here in the Nation of Fools, only American students can (and would) be expelled.
The day will come when the American people will realize that this "open and free" society, an idea that has been totally perverted, isn't worth it, especially since those words are meant mostly for illegal foreigners. Until then, the people will just have to settle for their country being the laughing stock of the world.
