No freedom to pray

We read:
"A federal appeals court ruled a New Jersey high school football coach who bowed his head while students on his team led prayer broke the law.

The decision against coach Marcus Borden of East Brunswick High School, however, will be appealed, said John Whitehead, president of the Virginia-based civil-liberties group the Rutherford Institute.

"If this ruling is allowed to stand, it will mean that high school teachers across the United States will have no free speech or academic freedom rights at all," he said. "This undermines a time-honored tradition that has less to do with religion that it does athletic tradition. It's a sad statement on our rights as Americans that schools are no longer bastions of freedom."

If you're looking to drive people of faith out of the teaching profession, this will do it! What a ludicrous ruling!

How on earth did we allow the court system to be filled with such morons over the last few decades?

The very people sworn to uphold the Constitution are using it as tool to drive their agenda.

Better question...How long will it take to reverse the situation?

"First you take a narcissistic group of people (attorneys) and pick the most worst of the lot and tell them they're a judge and you have acquired an instant moron. Having had to endure the idiocy of the American legal system, both civil & criminal, I've learned that there is no biggeer collection of full blown lying dumb asses outside of a coutroom anywhere.

Sad thing is that most (if not all) of these idiots swore on a Bible to uphold the constitution.
At least I think that tradition still exists.

Wow, he wasn't leading the prayer but just bowing his head????

I guess someone needs to start building the Ark.

So where is the next place we can move to on this planet like the pilgrims did way back when????

How? By being bigger morons than these judges are! This country's going down the drain, not because of the anti-American, leftist politicians and judges, (that WE put in power) but because we are a nation of weak-minded sheep. We allow ourselves to be lead around on a leash held by the openly-leftist media, by the opinions of former waiters and check-out cashiers who got a break and became wealthy "celebrities", and by just about anyone else who can get our attention!

We have become a nation that not only lacks the will to do anything, (other than watch American Idol) but a nation that has also given-up it's right and ability to think for it's self! And we'll get exactly what we deserve!... GSP

GSP - I couldn't have said it any better myself.

BRAVO GSP, very well said!!

The nation of sheep you describe is exactly what America has become. We pay more attention to irrelevant TV shows than we do to those who will rule us! Then of course, we have the audacity to complain about the lying crooks WE give power to. We are truly a nation lost!

What a foolish ruling! ...But why was a football team praying? For victory over the other team? That would be selfish. Frankly, we should remove all vestiges of religion from schools, government, etc. and relegate it to the home and churches. Schools are for learning, not praying.

Unfortunately, we get exactly the kind of government we deserve. The elite class of "public servants" feeding at the taxpayer-furnished trough will never willingly give up power. We must take it back from them by any means necessary, including revolution, bloodshed and the violent overthrow of our government.

We might even go all the way back to the middle of the 19th century when, according to John Taylor Gatto's book "Underground History of American Education", certain special interest groups started pushing for the deliberate dumbing down of our education system, replacing it with a schooling system where the real objective seems to be obedience conditioning, not learning and knowledge. It may have "worked" for the accomplishment of the goals of those special interests, but it has failed the vast majority that is the rest of the country, resulting in a nation of weak-minded sheep (one of the designs of the system, by the way). Amazing how everything ties into everything else.
