London Mayor sparks anger with joke at gay pride event
Boris Johnson has sparked outrage after making a crude joke about same-sex marriage at a gay rights event.
The London Mayor was giving a speech at a £250-a-head gala dinner ahead of the capital's Pride festival this weekend when he made the gaffe, which led to some guests walking out.
In reference to the same-sex marriage bill which is expected to be signed into law later this year, he said: 'I'm delighted that as of this autumn any young man will be able to take his chum up the Arcelor... and marry him.'
The tasteless gag was a reference to the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture in London's Olympic Park which will reopen in the autumn and be licensed for marriage ceremonies.

I don't get why this was offensive. Some very thin skins around, it seems
UPDATE: OK. I get it. It is a pun. "Arcelor" is pronounced like a word for the posterior.

One of the main aims of gay activists is to create the impression that (everything) they dislike or disagree with is "offensive". It is their goal to get themselves established, via legislation or the courts, as a "special class" of citizen, with rights and protections above and beyond those afforded to the rest of society. And, they are using the weakness and the highly misguided tolerance of the public to accomplish this.
What gays do to our souls and ars'oles is a scandal.
Of course it was a very silly and tasteless joke. Does anyone joke that hetero brides go up the "front aisle"?
If gays can marry/wed on the same terms as non-gays, how is that a right "above and beyond"?
12:39 PM What have gays being doing to your "ars'oles" that is a scandal, and why did you let them?

Is that all they seek? What about the "hate crime" laws that were specifically made to protect them? Does not the rest of society deserve the same protection? Why is it a far more serious crime to assault a gay person than it is to assault a straight person?
