No free speech in football

Recently, Chris Culliver, cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers, said on The Artie Lange Radio Show, "I don't do the gay guys, man. I don't do that. Ain't got no gay people on the team. They gotta get up outta here if they do. Can't be with that sweet stuff ... Can't be ... in the locker room, nah."

The backlash began just minutes after Culliver made the remarks and the 49ers were quick to release a statement that made their official stance on the subject clear, "There is no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. We have and always will proudly support the LGBT community."

Culliver, who is required to undergo sensitivity training and work with at-risk youth as part of his punishment, issued an apology the very next day stating, "The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel."

How do you "accommodate" homosexuals anyway?

Think about this - we provide separate facilities for heterosexual men and heterosexual women because the presence of either in the bathrooms of the other would lead to personal discomfort on the part of one. Men would be uncomfortable around women as they try to use the restroom, and women would accuse the men of creating a "hostile" environment with their constant leering and obvious attraction to members of the opposite sex.

So, if a person can demand separate restroom facilities because a member of the opposite sex might find them attractive, we should put the lesbians in with the men, and the gay men in with the women.

Except if you have two gay men or two lesbians, only one of whom finds the other attractive. Now we've allowed a potential hostile environment to develop.

It seems an intractable problem that I don't think Solomon could solve.

"undergo sensitivity training and work with at-risk youth as part of his punishment..."?

So, having an "unapproved" opinion is now grounds for punishment? Do the weak, gullible, and completely brain-dead American people realize where this is going?

Everyone knows that blacks are notoriously anti-gay and anti-same sex marriage.

He said what every other football player believes. He just has the misfortune of playing for a team located at the gay capital of the world. He is a football player, what the hell does a football player need sensitivity "training " for. He should just say "to hell with it, Just trade me to another team if you don't like what I think ".

What he should do is sue them for violating his free speech rights. Play me or trade me, but I have the right to say what I want.
