Must not admire attractive women
We read:
"Feminists have attacked a multimedia beauty pageant in which men cast votes on bikini-clad women. Sportsmodel.TV is using the lure of a career in modelling or as a television presenter to encourage hundreds of women to upload images of themselves posing in swimwear. Visitors to the competition's website - and from next month via iPhone - can vote on those they consider most attractive.
The managing director of advocacy group Women's Network Australia, Lynette Palmen, said she was appalled women were once again being put on display. "We see it every day ... whether it's a billboard or a magazine, the exploitation of women and judging people on their looks will always be a drawcard for attracting men to a product or service," she said.
Contestant Alana de Freitas said she had no qualms about men judging images of her frolicking in the surf. Criticism from women's groups was misplaced, she said. "A lot of the girls use their profiles to draw attention to charities and things," she said. "Just because you've got some photos of yourself in a bikini doesn't mean you're not a good person or you don't care about the world."

Just to help infuriate the feminist harpies, a picture of one of the contestants above. I suspect that there is a lot of jealousy involved. Women are notoriously bitchy to one-another.

I wonder if Lynette looks like most of the women from COW, or NOW or the Russan womens's shotput team. The good looking girls never seem to complane about this kind of stuff. Stormewaters

So now, because Lyn is upset, men are to deny their "natural" genetic programming and impose "man made" laws about what we should or should not be attracted to on ourselves!
And I thought the Church was bad for foisting "religious" beliefs about morality and decency! At least the Church admits that nature is fallen! This woman probably would be shocked by any pronouncement that her particular "vice" was "bad!"
All I saw was a photo and some squiggly black lines, dunno what you two are commenting on. :P
A quick Google image search for "Women's Network Australia, Lynette Palmen" yields a woman who may very well be jealous of the fit, attractive women that the contest features. Furthermore, one of the Google "hits" shows her at reception for those who have weight issues either now or in the past.
Is this the cause of her angst? Is there jealousy? Maybe.
Yet one thing remains clear: women such Lyn Palmen who on one hand champion "equal rights," rights for women don't believe that women can make decisions for themselves. I am sure that Ms. Palmen feels that she and her organization are totally correct in demanding that women who made an informed decision to participate in this contest are wrong and should be "re-educated."
Palmen obviously doesn't believe the men should oppress women, but it is acceptable for woman to oppress other women.
Anon 12:54,
Very well said.
Women's Network Australia, obviously means, "fat, ugly, dykes". It's always the same. They can't stand men looking at attractive women, even though the attractive women don't mind one bit. Perhaps they would like a law passed that says only "f,u,d's," can look at attractive women.
Maybe we should outlaw heavy flannel shirts, baggy jeans, and heavy work boots from being sold to anyone but men, and they must prove it! If you can't pee standing up, you can't buy 'em!
Feminists have their own agenda. Calling it jealousy is kind of childish. It's like calling minutemen racist; just an easy way to avoid discussing the issue. I myself have no sympathy for the feminist movement's goals but even I understand that their thinking goes beyond that of a 5-year-old.

And the fact that its the women themselves that submit these pictures for this contests has no bearing on whether or not they are being exploited. As far as Im concerned, if you are legal and willing, its impossible to be exploited.
If women weren't willing to exploit their gender the famous Girls Gone Wild videos would have never been made. Think about it, those girls didn't get paid a penny to act like pseudo-porn stars in front of the camera.
