Police "Racist" for Making Modern Assumptions

From Australia:

"Singer Christine Anu was left "fuming" after allegedly being branded a lesbian by a policeman outside an Alexandria cafe at the weekend in what is believed to be a racially motivated incident.

The ARIA-award winning artist was enjoying brunch at Zandria cafe with her friend Dianne Nyoni and their respective children on Sunday afternoon.

Ms Nyoni became involved in an argument with a policeman, who told her they had received a report about a man running around with a gun. When Anu, who is of Torres Strait Islander background, came outside to support her long-time friend the officer allegedly said: "Is this your partner?"

Ms Nyoni said she spoke to a sergeant at Redfern police station yesterday and planned to seek legal advice to make a written complaint today. "He doesn't think it's a race issue and I believe it is," she said.

After all the propaganda about how "normal" homosexuality is, the police are apparently still not allowed to ask if a relationship is homosexual. They must make heterosexual assumptions, apparently. Sounds like "Damned if you do and damned if you don't"

And Hey! Might it not be "homophobic" to regard it as an insult if one is called a lesbian?
