An Iranian immigrant who got rich in the USA is about to become a space tourist via a Russian rocket. We read:
"Ms Ansari provoked a brief row when she announced she wanted to wear the Stars and Stripes on one sleeve of her space suit and, to inspire women in the country of her birth, the Iranian flag on the other.
She backed down under pressure from the US and Russian governments..

I would have thought that she would have been conveying a very useful lesson to Iranians by what she planned to do.
