MSNBC‘s Matthews Calls Bachmann ’Balloon Head’ During On-Air Rant‏

If a conservative commentator said this about a Leftist woman, NOW and other feminist orgs. would throw a fit
"I’m sure Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo didn’t expect his visit to Hardball to be dull. Sure wasn’t. It quickly turned into a Chris Matthews rantfest about Michele Bachmann. ‘Balloon head’ became the term of the night.

Mediaite’s Matt Schneider:

The “interview” ended up being just Matthews berating Russo with questions like “do you know how little this woman knows about American history” and “what is she talking about?”

Now there’s some non-vitriolic rhetoric for you!

I have to disagree a little with Spurwing. This reminds me of the joke (which I cannot remember fully so please forgive me)
Dr. Frankenstein walks into the used Brain store, and asks to see some brains. The first one he is shown is Einstein's brain. $2.00 per pound, he is told. The second one is Marilyn vos Savant's brain. $2.00 per pound, again. Then he see's (Chris Mathew's) brain, $200.00 per pound, he is informed. Why so much, he asks. (Chris) wasn't as smart as the other two. Because, it was rarely used, so is almost like new, is the response.
(poorly told, but hopefully the point is still there. Insert many names instead of Chris)
Chris has a pretty big head, so I think his brain is a good sized brain, but size doesn't matter, it is how you use it that counts.

I'm a little curious? what did he say that was factually incorrect?

Matthews accused Bachman of being ignorant of history, specifically her claim that some of the Founding Fathers were against slavery and worked to end the institution within their lifetime.

Matthews is completely wrong on the issue. Adams (both father and son) tried to end slavery in the country. John Adams authored the Massachusetts' constitution which has a provision that no slaves are allowed in the state. Franklin formed the first Anti Slavery group in the country. Washington and Jefferson freed all of their slaves at the time of their deaths.

Bachman is correct and Mathews is wrong.

That the left attacked Rep. Bachman is not at all surprising. They always save their most vicious attacks for those they fear most. (Palin, Limbaugh, etc.) Matthews is usually wrong on most things but hides it behind his bullying of his guests. Poor Chris, with his lord Obummer looking like he'll be unemployed in 2012, Christ knows he won't be getting that "running down my leg" feeling anytime soon. In fact, Matthews is a low-class, low-rent buffoon on a par with Fox's Bill O'Ego.

Remember in the ME BROOKS movie YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN his brain was from someone named ABBIE NORMAL

If Matthews keeps his rhetoric up the 'running down his leg' feeling will be the local dog.

A simple solution: if you do not like Chris Matthews, do not watch him. If you do not like Rush Limbaugh, do not listen to him. Rinse and repeat.

You're right Stucco, but unfortunately, their words and deeds get out into the real world where most of us reside, even those of us who do not watch Matthews, so they're tough to ignore, nor should they be ignored.

"so they're tough to ignore"

I you cannot ignore the rantings of these buffoons, you have bigger problems to deal with.
