America next?

We read:
"China's government wants all PCs sold in the country from July 1 to be loaded with software that blocks certain websites, the Wall Street Journal reported. The paper cited the software's main developer as saying the primary target was pornography, and added that the government said it was to protect young people from "harmful" content.

The software, called Green Dam-Youth Escort, would block access to banned websites by connecting to a database, the Journal reported.

The software must either be preinstalled on the hard-drive or enclosed on a compact disc.

Jinhui Computer System Engineering Co developed the software with the help of Beijing Dazheng Human Language Technology Academy Co, it said.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology put the requirement in a notice on May 19 but it has not yet been publicised, the paper said.

Odd that China is asking the computer companies to help them censor information, when they have an army of computer hackers working day and night to disrupt and hack into the worlds computer systems, especially the US's.

Of course, the companies will comply because to them, profit is a far stronger motivation than peoples freedom. Why give the Chinese people the opportunity to see what's going on in the real world and risk all those profits.

Now, the people of China are not only the victims communism, but of capitalism as well.

For every attempt to block content there will be 100 people who figure out a way around it. The internet is just too big.

I think Nixon's biggest mistake was opening up relations with China. They say Obama wants to do the same with Cuba. Capitalism along doesn't democracy. Still, it's too late now, China owns most of the US foreign debt.

Democracy? Which country are you refering to? The way Obummer's going, soon China will have more democracy than we do.

"Capitalism along doesn't democracy."

WTF?

My guess is the writer meant to say, "Capitalism alone doesn't bring democracy", but that's just a guess.
