No more muffin tops or cankles: British Minister calls for ban on 'fat talk' used to shame women over their bodies

So are politicians going to stop their "war on obesity" too?

A minister has called for an end to so-called 'fat talk', including terms such as muffin tops, bingo wings and cankles.

Scottish MP Jo Swinson believes the 'body shaming' language damages people's confidence and wants women and children to ban the terms from everyday conversation.

The equalities minister said: 'It's depressingly commonplace to hear women - and even young girls and children - insulting their own bodies.  'Muffin tops, thunder thighs, cankles - fat talk and body shaming too easily become a habit and an expectation.'

From what I can see, fatties tend to be in denial about their weight.  If we think realism would be best for them, we may need MORE fat-talk

Realism is always the answer. Now all you have to do is find a way for people to deal with reality, but don't count on it, as most will do anything to avoid it.

Just take away their Bibles. Problem solved.

"When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression no matter how holy the motives."
