Journalist censored over games tweets
Must not criticize a TV network??
A British journalist's Twitter account has been suspended after he made a series of critical remarks about NBC's coverage of the London Olympics, sparking a wave of indignation online and claims of censorship.
The microblogging service suspended Guy Adams, the Los Angeles correspondent for London-based daily The Independent, after he sent a tweet on Friday revealing NBC Olympics President Gary Zenkel's email address.
Adams was among a number of Twitter users in the US who vented their frustration with NBC for showing the London Olympics' opening ceremony on delay to coincide with evening prime-time in the United States.
"America's left coast forced to watch Olympic ceremony on SIX HOUR time delay. Disgusting money-grabbing by @NBColympics," Adams tweeted.
Another read: "I have 1000 channels on my TV. Not one will be showing the Olympics opening ceremony live. Because NBC are utter, utter bastards."
"The man responsible for NBC pretending the Olympics haven't started yet is Gary Zenkel. Tell him what u think!," Adams tweeted, along with Zenkel's work email address.

Zenkel's WORK email address was already publicly available. Twitter has now backed down and reinstated the account.

Is he surprised to find out that the TV industry runs on pure, insatiable greed?
Bird of Paradox, why are you knocking a US Corporation. Are you a socialist dog?
"TV industry runs on pure, insatiable greed?"
Quit knocking capitalism, you socialist.
2:08 and 2:09 (if not the same fascist) don't seem to understand the concept of 'free speech' that this site is supposed to promote, even for their fellow posters here! I
Capitalism trumps free speech any day.
you guys get so personal, stick to the subject, it's far more interesting than personal insults.
I'd be upset about NBC's coverage, but it's just the Olympics. Nothing important. Now, if they were screwing around with coverage of auto or motorcycle races - well that's important. :)
Quite frankly I think the people complaining about the tape dely are full of it. The vast majority of people in the US who want to watch the Olympics have day jobs and couldn't watch live even if they wanted to. NBC would have many orders of magnitude more complaints if they didn't have the tape delay.
Matt
I don't give a rat's ass about the opening ceremony, but the coverage does suck. It was better 20 years ago when there was only one broadcast channel instead of 5 cable channels.
Hey 11:05,
I have a simple solution for you. Don't watch it. Instead, go down into your parent's basement and play World of Warcraft for 2 weeks straight. The Olympics will be over by then. Jerk.
I think it exceptionally amusing that NBC cut away when they were honoring the london terror victims, and the OIC refuses to honor the Munich terror victims. Islam uber alles. With all the fabrication NBC has been doing lately, I'm surprised they haven't invented medals for the olympics or spliced in other events to make it look like someone else won.
"and the OIC refuses to honor the Munich terror victims. "
It has been done before. Try research before you open your diseased mouth.
