Free speech versus compelled praise for diversity

We read:
"Can the government force those it licenses to parrot its praise for 'diversity'?

The Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care Division thinks so, issuing proposed rules requiring day care centers — including those for infants and toddlers — to feature displays promoting diversity, and to provide dolls representing at least three different races.

As I noted in today’s Washington Times, this diversity-display requirement runs afoul of the First Amendment."

Hey Anon 6:08 AM,

You're being seriously nasty over a small thing when you lecture Plover.

Maybe you should trot off to Norway and take a course in anger management.

Diversity is only part of what Colorado's bureaucrats are after. Their rules also specify what food and drink day care providers must provide, how much computer and TV time is allowed (20 minutes/day), among many other micro-managing rules. The rules are presently being reviewed, and are under attack by daycare providers. We can only wait and see what happens.

And here I thought California and New York had a lock on leftist insanity.

No Dean, they obviously don't have a lock, although they usually are way out front.

When the American people decided to ignore fact, common sense, and reality in favor of phony rhetoric and media lies, and elect an avowed Marxist as their president, one who immediately surrounded himself with his radical communist, Marxist, atheist, and anarchist friends and mentors, they were not only destroying their country and their government, but also their own way of life. One can also describe the people's actions as the epitome of weakness and stupidity.

What makes the people's "crime" even more heinous, is the fact that the president actually came out and told the American people what he was going to do! That he disguised all the damage he would inflict with words like, "hope and change", has not made that damage any less destructive, nor has it stopped it. In fact, it is spreading to places in our country that no one would have ever thought possible, such as the South and Mid-West.

We see once again that, generally speaking, the American people lack the intellectual capacity, common sense, strength, and will to be trusted with anything as powerful as the vote.

The first amendment won't protect us if we ignore it. Sadly, our leftist brothers and sisters are perfectly willing to do that-why? I would think that the only reasons to be consistently against free speech would be because you either believe that you have found absolute truth and all other viewpoints are false or your argument is so weak that you cannot defend them, so opponents' inconvenient arguments must be silenced. I see strains of both among leftists.

Plover is the obvious product of a "progressive" education which says "writing" is more important than "spelling" to our young children. It's not important that he spell or is legible, only that he express himself.

A Plover apologist. Incredible. It is funny that you welcome retarded conservatives into your fold.

Can't Plover at least try to spell better out of consideration to readers and if he wants to be taken seriously?
