Troll
Some seriously deranged Leftist hater has been making multiple comments on some of the posts here.
This blog has been remarkably troll-free for a long time now so I have been able to make it maximally easy to post here. Whether that should continue I am undecided. The best way of discouraging trolls is to require that all comments be moderated before publication. That way their comments never appear and they get discouraged. I am not going to do that yet but if you find that your comment is being held for moderation, thank yet another Leftist. They destroy most things they get their hands on.
In the meantime I will delete the craziest and most irrelevant of Mr Troll's comments so that people interested in discussing the topic of the post don't have to wade through a miasma of hate to get to relevant comments

The troll is gone. He was commenting right up until the time I set up moderation but has not even attempted to comment since. I actually deleted over 200 of his comments just a little while ago. What a sad soul -- sitting around for hours just pouring out hate! It's yet another vivid piece of evidence about what Leftist minds are like.
He made several mentions of one of my articles and seemed to want to take issue with it -- but he just could not allow himself to be polite about it! If he had set out the points he wished to make in a clear and non-abusive way, I would have been happy to answer him. But he was just too defensive to make that sort of comment. He had to protect his ego by being abusive. Very Leftist

A phobia is an irrational fear, so the terms "Islamophobic" and "homophobic" embody a claim that the people so described are mentally ill. There is no evidence for either claim. Both terms are simply abuse masquerading as diagnoses and suggest that the person using them is engaged in propaganda rather than in any form of rational or objective discourse.
Leftists often pretend that any mention of race is "racist" -- unless they mention it, of course. But leaving such irrational propaganda aside, which statements really are racist? Can statements of fact about race be "racist"? Such statements are simply either true or false. The most sweeping possible definition of racism is that a racist statement is a statement that includes a negative value judgment of some race. Absent that, a statement is not racist, for all that Leftists might howl that it is. Facts cannot be racist so nor is the simple statement of them racist. Here is a statement that cannot therefore be racist by itself, though it could be false: "Blacks are on average much less intelligent than whites". If it is false and someone utters it, he could simply be mistaken or misinformed.

The naive scholar who searches for a consistent Leftist program will not find it. What there is consists only in the negation of the present.

I despair of the ADL. Jews have enough problems already and yet in the ADL one has a prominent Jewish organization that does its best to make itself offensive to Christians. Their Leftism is more important to them than the welfare of Jewry -- which is the exact opposite of what they ostensibly stand for! Jewish cleverness seems to vanish when politics are involved. Fortunately, Christians are true to their saviour and have loving hearts. Jewish dissatisfaction with the myopia of the ADL is outlined here. Note that Foxy was too grand to reply to it.

And if you see a post from the Troll refrain from replying to it for a while so it can be removed from the conversation without leaving your reply to something that is no longer visible.
Just a suggestion...
Bullying is the only way these leftist cretins can make themselves noticed, since they have nothing rational or logical to add to any conversation. In fact, it's the same basic tactic they use to get their way no matter the subject. (see: same-sex marriage)
As offensive as they and their tactics are, they are successful because Conservatives are, well, too conservative, which is why leftists always seem to win arguments. The only real way to defeat them is to use their own tactics against them.

The troll in question is not quite right in the head, but his rants are still instructive from a certain point of view.
His world view, which includes the usual panoply of Leftie beliefs, is collapsing in the face of the contrary evidence, and he is losing his identity.
Lefties are highly narcissistic, which does not, contrary to popular definition, mean that they love themselves. It means that they love their image. Take that away and you have a true identity crisis; they no longer know who or what they are. Only a void remains, rapidly filling with the shame of having been so obviously wrong for so very long.
I found this troll's rants to be indicative and instructive in this regard. He is representative of a lot of what is hitting the Left these days as they come to terms with their failures.
If he can control his obsession and reduce his frequency and repetition so that he's not, in essence, filibustering the site, then I would try to leave at least some of his comments up.

I finally figured out who this dweeb is. It's Kturd that been put into moderation at PP's blog.
This guy is one sick puppy, and he doesn't understand the difference between public and private forums, either.
I've seen enough now. JJR, I recommend that you just regularly delete his comments whenever you can get around to it - aot having to constantly moderate everyone else - and with as little fanfare as possible. Narcissists need attention like addicts need drugs; ignore him and he'll eventually have to move on.
But expect more of such behavior in the future cuz the Left is really losing it these days and his sort of hissy fits are a symptom....

Pls delete all comments made under my handle after the 1:25 PM one; those subsequent ones are fakes written by someone else. You can check the i.p. addresses in the log to confirm if you like.
The troll needs attention so it appears he is upping the ante by impersonating the grownups. I recommend we keep him on ignore.
Also, if you wouldn't mind publishing the i.p. address used to make the false comments, I would appreciate it. I can probably trace it down between two sips of coffee.

Make this forum private. We don't need his narcissistic behavior clouding up every issue we try to discuss. He's obviously not going to move on. He's too obsessed with us. He's probably OCD. He's not gonna give up.

OKAY - Let's clarify a few things.
Those of us who read and occasionally post to this blog are committed to the concept of free speech.
You who seem to have WAY too much time on your hands are effectively trying to hack the site by posting so many rants that those of us who use it, effectively can't use it. You are using your free speech, which no one is trying to take away from you, to damage our free speech. From our viewpoint, this is a rather Leftist thing to do. The way you are accomplishing your goal is by making us sift through so much of your comments that are not typically related to the post topic. Jon owns the blog and can delete comments. He has that right. He also rarely uses it, but you are forcing the use of this power. If you want to comment on the topic at hand, please do. We welcome the discussion. If you want to force him to delete your posts so you can complain about him being hypocritical for deleting your posts. It is rather like the criminal who hits a cop, gets hit back, and complains about police brutality.
Anyway, I hope you don't succeed in your campaign against Jon.

As someone who is myself joyfully OCD when pursuing R&D on a new project and who has often drunk blogged, only the frantic energy on display here is familiar to me, whereas the severe lack of actual rant content is worse than anything I've ever seen even back to the days of the green command line Usenet world of the 90s. I too have had bouts of decadent mania upon discovering an unmoderated blog, and yet far from trying to merely vandalize a thread, I presented extremely inconvenient facts and morale deflating opinion poll results, and all manner of relevant debunking of claims, mostly pertaining to climate alarmism. I was rarely confronted by competent argument back and that was disheartening many a day. Here we see a melt down and cry for help minus any real confrontation. A conservative landslide in the US in 2012 will create massive existential wailing, online. I notice this when the HuffPo site allows me to post AGW debunking material in how I am then attacked for being brainwashed by Fox News. Lefties don't comprehend that conservatives (or in my case libertarians) are not the group think sort of people they themselves tend to be, so they cannot comprehend the bemusement felt by those they accuse of being groupies who hate outsiders. Here our great hero screams at readers to in some unspecific way to "explain" themselves, then he declares victory when he is snubbed. The miserable angst of this liberal arts college student is almost enduring and yet sadly infantile in how he demands that others mind read his desires expressed not as actual questions but as purile wailings.
This has become more than just,trolling, spamming, and free speech.
This person needs serious help.
Moderating comments is absolutley appropriate in this type of situation.
For the record I think it's a shame to delete a self-proclaimed troll within his own special thread. It was truly a fine example of an Internet melt down. I'm sorry if he screwed up other treads but finding a true believer acting outside of a cultish crowd was a rare delight. He was raw enough to start to get an angle on. He was not any more delusional than the usual HuffPo member but he was indeed more individualistically aggressive and curious. The usual one liner hog pile I get at lefty sites affords little intuitive insight into the inner drives of those who think
that fascist utopias represent the culmination of classic liberal thought. If "anonymous" has a site he prefers to continue his pseudo-questioning on, NikFromNYC@yahoo.com requests an invite.

It sounded like he was obsessive compulsive. Probably having issues with one of the medications he was taking. Hopefully he's seeing a psychiatrist so he can work out some of these issues.
Don't hate him. He's just a sick individual who needs to get some treatment.
We're all just Human on the inside, he probably faced some screwed up shit in his life to become so deranged. Probably had a rough childhood. Parents who instilled conflicting viewpoints causing him a life of never ending conflict in his head.
He probably just sat around thinking about life so much that he came to the realization that the world has to run on a series of compromises. We can't be perfect but we can at least try to learn to live together.
He probably just wanted to lash out at some of these conflicts and just happened to come across the Hitler/Eugenics article and wanted to stop that kind of hateful thought.
Well, I hope now that moderation has been enacted we can discuss these issues in a more civilized fashion without having someone trying to spread hate.
I hate to say it, but I get the impression that this guy might make the papers someday soon for attempting to kill a lot of people. I hope not, but that's the impression I get. I also hope he is getting help.

Something had to be done about the troll. Unfortunately, tho, his insecure ego breeds compulsion, and he'll probably just go troll some other site, instead. But at least he's gone from here.

How are you sure the troll isn't still here? With anonymous login he might still be trying to stir up trouble.
I used to run a blog of my own... but a bunch of stupid leftists decided to come after me. I eventually had to resort to deleting hateful posts of theirs every day.
When I thought they were finally gone they just started with their dumb trolling again. When you try to get rid of rats they just go into hiding but they're still out there, plotting away under your floorboards trying to figure out a way into your cupboard.
All I'm saying is, keep a lookout. Fight the good fight!

I'm pretty sure this troll is a textbook example of paranoid schizophrenia.
I've worked in psychology long enough to see the patterns. He is constantly trying to figure out the true nature of the world to the point of questioning reality itself. He thinks he has now become aware of the true nature of the world. He has become obsessed to try and find the people who are trying to manipulate him.
He definitely needs help.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've been seeing some really weird comments lately. Stuff out of the usual realm of conservative blogs. Sounds like he's still here trying to get his voice heard except now he's in deep undercover mode. Be sure to think closely when you read things to make sure it's not just him trying to manipulate the way you think.
He's part of the secret underground thought regulation commission led by himself. He's delusional.
He's probably starting to believe he is Christ... lol... soon you will be seeing him on the corner of the street with a cardboard sign saying "The End is Near."
Hopefully he sees a doctor soon, we have too many of those folks out there already. It's annoying to get off the train going to my job and having to avoid giving them some change so they can go self medicate with booze and drugs.
