Homosexuals as hatemongers

We read:
"Now that the California Supreme Court, in a 6-1 ruling, validated Proposition 8, last fall's voter-approved constitutional amendment forbidding same-sex marriage, it is interesting to examine the tactics and public conduct of the gay activist community.

Ironically, this powerful and well-funded gay lobby continues to use rhetoric to promote hate speech, encourage social protest and incite harassment of individuals or groups who oppose their agenda. The Californians Against Hate Web site, an archetype for gay activism continues to utilize false implication and exaggeration to impugn anyone who dares oppose them as hatemongers.

An example of this rhetoric is its "dishonor roll," a comprehensive listing of donors who supported Proposition 8. It includes a specific charge to "Boycott A-1 Self Storage Company" and maliciously targets well over 300 other individuals and organizations who made generous donations supporting Prop 8.

An orchestrated attack against those who support a ban on same-sex marriage has included protest, vandalism and aggressive defamation. This attempted demonization may elicit public attention, but is transparent and disingenuous.

Can you imagine the firestorm of outrage that would erupt if sincere individuals in the gay community were targeted and assailed in an analogous manner?

"Can you imagine the firestorm of outrage that would erupt if sincere individuals in the gay community were targeted and assailed in an analogous manner?".... Jon

That's a good point Jon, because their conduct here is the result of them NOT being treated in a similar manner. Gay activists represent one of the more extreme components of the far-Left. And as such, they see tolerence only as something to be demanded from those who disagree with them, not from themselves. Their conduct also shows the utter disdain they harbor for the overwhelming majority of Americans who strongly disagree with, not only their promiscuous lifestyle, but their never-ending demands.

They should also realize the American people are aware of the fact that this whole same-sex marriage campaign really has nothing to do with getting all the legal rights granted to married hetrosexuals. (they could simply sit down with an attorney and do that) It's simply yet another attempt to get themselves legally classified as a special class of citizens, (via the liberal courts) with rights and protections above and beyond those enjoyed by the rest of us.

The solution here is an old and very simple one. The best way to stop bullies is to treat them as they treat others. It works every time.

Hey 1:39 AM, you need to know that there's a big difference between a civil union recognized by individual states and federal marriage recognized in every state.

Civil unions don't provide for immigration rights.

Civil unions don't include tax benefits with inheritance.

Here's an article that describes it well.

With that said, gay activist ought to be more civil, the same can be said of those black activists that scream "racist" if they see you wearing a confederate t-shirt.

Bobby, what is a "federal marriage"? Marriage is a religious act, and government has no business getting involved in it in any way. But, as Anon-1 pointed out, this is not really about marriage. It's about "special privileges".
