Orwell's Newspeak is thriving in Britain

Any intervention into someone's family life by police and social workers is referred to in Britain as "support". Most people would think that having your kids taken off you is severe punishment but in Britain it is "support". An example in the second post on POLITICAL CORRECTNESS WATCH today.

If a child is abused or killed by a parent, the "child-support" agency aka social workers are blamed for not removing the child at risk - so it's a no-win situation for the authorities.

I can't wait to read what our in-house British apologists have to say now. That a people would tolerate their government turning the entire nation, it's laws, traditions, history, etc. upside down, proves the people condone it. And in that case, deserve nothing better. It's quite clear, and has been for a long time, that the Brits have traded rational thought and common sense for political correctness. Intellectually and morally, they have become a 3rd world country, at best.

And what do the US have? - do they all act as one mind too? - you are pathetically xenophobic!
btw. there are many parts of the US that are indistinguishable from a poor 3rd world country in physical terms, whether or not morally and intellectually as well!

"I can't wait to read what our in-house British apologists have to say now."

I'll do my best:

1.) It was poor judgment from ONE individual - the police officer who called it in. After that the next one used more common sense apparently and the matter was put to rest. No need to cry wolf.

2.) The mother to be was living in some sort of a slum house with exposed nails etc. Perhaps there were some grounds to be concerned. Perhaps she even used toxic products that could harm the fetus. She was renovating after all (I wouldn't call it decorating).

3.) Maybe the social services were really looking to offer support such as help her and the child to find better housing. How do we know their intention was to take the yet to be born baby into custody?

6:57AM Unfortunately, you're wasting your time - these people aren't interested in the facts as they prefer to dismiss all other countries as inferior to their own in order to feel better about the faults in their own society.

"It was poor judgment from ONE individual"

One? It's a judgement shared by an entire nation. And even though we read and hear about it almost every day, the apologists are still in denial. No wonder the country's so fcuked up.

I follow a lot of blogs on this subject matter and to this day the majority of cases come from the States. This blog has naturally more news from the Kingdom as the owner is Australian and therefore probably follows UK media a lot more than the average Joe in the US.

Ok, where? I've been throughout the US, and even when it's bad its not even close to 3rd world.

"shared by an entire nation" - ridiculous generalization, but no surprise on this site!

I hear Detroit slums are pretty bad. There was a web site devoted to them (might still be) and the pictures were pretty self evident. I haven't seen slums like that in any 3rd world country I've visited. Sure people are even worse off living in the Calcutta waste dump but the houses in the city itself are in better shape than in Detroit.

Oh yeah, remember the TV series 'The Wire'. I don't know where it was filmed but the West Baltimore depicted in the show looked disgusting. Worse than Beirut.
