"Best Buy" wouldn't say "Merry Christmas", but have wished Muslims "Happy Eid Al-Adha"
We read:
"Best Buy stands by its decision to wish U.S. Muslims a Happy Eid Al-Adha, a rep for the company said, and though some Best Buy customers took offense, a Muslim advocacy group praised the move.
The retailer got some flak this week for including, along with its circular advertising Thanksgiving Day sales, a note saying "Happy Eid Al-Adha," which refers to a holiday of sacrifice for followers of Islam on Nov. 27 this year.
After TechCrunch ran an item about the circular, some claimed offense and said they'd take their business elsewhere. "I spent about $3,000 with . . . your store. I will be shopping somewhere else," one consumer wrote on Best Buy's Web forum. "BB has the Muslims covered with the 'Happy Eid,' but what about the rest of us Americans?" wrote another. "Do we get a 'Happy Thanksgiving'?"

I guess they want only Muslim customers. Christians should take the hint and stay away. BB do seem to be worried about that. They now say they are going to recognize Christmas this year.

No shit. What great journalism.
The day is coming when Islam will rule the United States. And that day is soon, soon, soon. We Christians had better be prepared to either fight for our God-given rights, or face a wrath of persecution.
If it is around the same date then why not? ThanksGiving was much larger. Now if next month they do not have Merry Christmas, then I see something to complain about. After all, this is a private company.
They better say "Merry Christmas" next month, now that they did the Eid al crap they have no excuse.
It's not about if it's on the same day of if you are right-wing or left-wing. It's about the simple fact that Islam is taking over and the country-at-large is letting it happen. Unfortunately, our illustrious president is absolutely correct when he states that the United States is no longer a Christian nation. It is a FACT that it was founded on Judeo-Christian values and principles, and it is a FACT that the majority of those in Government favored Christianity, and it is a FACT that our founding fathers intended the Constitution to provide law within a Christian framework. It is also a FACT that if we continue in this direction, the United States will become a Muslim nation that will eventually oppress and murder Christians in the name of Islam.
They're a business!
If saying "Happy Eid Al-Adha" increases their profit margins go for it.
If saying "Happy Holidays" brings in more money than "Merry Christmas" go for it.
If they are losing money over being PC, the board and people making these decisions should be fired and replaced.
They are in the business to make a profit. If someone saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" pisses you off use your freedom of choice and the power of the dollar to shop somewhere else.
"If saying "Happy Holidays" brings in more money than "Merry Christmas" go for it."
---It doesn't, they do it because it's politically correct. They don't mind offending millions of Christians to keep secular groups happy.
"They are in the business to make a profit."
---If they where they would say Merry Christmas. In reality they're dominated by politically correct secularists that would rather not offend and sell less than offend and sell more.
"If someone saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" pisses you off use your freedom of choice and the power of the dollar to shop somewhere else."
---The problem is that political correctness has spread to almost eveyry corporation, so there aren't that many places to shop. However, people did force Wal-Mart to say "Merry Christmas" with their boycotts, so maybe the same can be done with Best Buy.
"I plan to shop at Best Buy because you right wing assholes shout Boycott!"
There's a no-brain reaction to the issue if I've ever seen one.
You don't understand... conservatives bad ... everything else good.
i will buy my electrical items from Dell, Amazon, anybody but Bestbuy, also Amricans should avoid le tagete.
"Another fucking dittohead."
---I don't remember calling liberals "dittoheads" when you boycotted Dr. Laura and told advertisers to abandon her show. You used your free speech to ruin the chances of that woman having a TV show, you stopped Rush Limbaugh from owning a baseball team and even Lou Dobs had to quit CNN because of you.
Yet when good conservatives, independents, libertarians, and fair-minded people who hate the Xmasphobia of Best Buy decide to take a stand against such evil organization, you call us dittoheads.
Very well, I hope Best Buy finds enough liberals to make up for the pro-Christmas majority they are offending.
If you want to take a stand against an evil organization, try the Catholic Church. Look here.
hmmm - and atheists are accused of having no moral foundation! I guess religion fails in one of its major claims!
'If you want to take a stand against an evil organization, try the Catholic Church. Look here."
---The Catholic Church has already spent millions of dollars settling abuse cases commited by a tiny percentage of Priests.
The abuse had nothing to do with church dogma but sick individuals who took advantage of their positions to fulfill disgusting desires.
The only mistake the church commited was protecting the abusers by transfering them to other parishes. It's a mistake they regret and are still paying for it.
With that said, the church has also spent millions of dollars in public hospitals, homeless shelter, adoption organization and several other charities.
So I don't need to take a stand against the church, they never did anything against me and while I'm not a catholic, I have no beef with them.
Yes - excuse it all away. They're naughty but sometimes nice, so that's okay then.
