Must not laugh at the postal service

So we should cry? Makes sense.
"The U.S. Postal Service wants Americans to know that even the temptation of French toast sticks and a Double Crossain'wich wouldn't stop its letter carriers from delivering the mail on time.

After unleashing its lawyers, USPS has struck a settlement with Burger King over an ad campaign launched last year that featured a letter carrier getting distracted from his job by delicious Burger King breakfast food. Apparently, the Postal Service did not appreciate the portrayal."

What utter BS. Postal workers have to eat too. They are human after all. While it may be a miracle of God that our mail gets accurately delivered daily, and in a timely manner, Postal workers are human, and treating them as such makes their lives better. In fact, I say "Hi!" to them when I see them around town and in places like Burger King. While I rely on the Internet for more and more communication needs, the U.S. Postal Service is still very necessary, and its workers are very appreciated. Sounds like we need to clean out some of the suits.

Well said sig, and while we're at it, get rid of the unions as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't those commercials show people from all walks of life, and different type of jobs being distracted by BK breakfast?

The USPS BigWigs only made themselves look petty by calling attention to themselves over a non-issue.

So would the folks over at the USPS be happy if the mailman was portrayed as a crazed, gun toting killer, shooting the place up an AK-47?

If postal workers who deliver mail may get some healthy exercise from walking(depending on how much), but scoffing burgers clearly won't help, any more that cops scoffing doughnuts. The international image of Americans is of overweight balloons stuffing their faces with burgers, pizzas and doughnuts, etc..

Anon 2:51, who gives a crap? As long as my mail is delivered in a timely and accurate manner, I don't care how it's done. Deliver it on an ivory tusk sled pulled by a team of baby harp seals for all I care. Just do the job that you are paid to do.

You have a point 2:51, but most of the blame belongs not to the fast-food joints, but to companies like Sony, XBox, Microsoft, etc. People don't move anymore.

And 5:39, you had best start thinking ahead, because the USPS is becoming more irrelevant every day. They now cost us far more than they're worth.

I wonder if that mentality being pushed by the postal service in this conflict with Burger King is why the workers "go postal"?
